What happened to RevCo?

get out, can’t sit still is one of the best songs.

the only song that doesn’t do much for me is the opener on beers steers and queers. everything else is gold. even at the top.

At The Top is almost like an industrial blues song, at least lyrically

Alright everyone, back the fuck away from At The Top.

it’s dub [:)]

I think the title track is cool, it just wears thin quickly because it’s essentially a novelty song.

The 12" version is better, too (especially with the added coda).

And speaking of RevCo, who does vocals on The Rockabye? According to Chris’s site, it’s not him…

Crowded House released some good stuff when they were Split Endz.

Can’t Sit Still is probably my fave cut from BS&Q. The simple bassline in it and the percussion rule!

I’d also say the Linger Ficken Good song is my fave from that album…the bass and percussion again kick ass and proved Ministry weren’t just a one trick pony.

Sounds a lot like Chris, but I saw he isn’t credited on his site either. But i’m almost positive it’s Chris on pretty much the entire album except for the first and last tracks. One thing though that throws me through a loop. Luc’s credited in the book, but i’m also under the impression that he didn’t really contribute to that album, at all.

By the way, cool story about getting Big Sexy Land! To be a longer term fan of the band you’d have had to be in the band! =)

Gonna second this. Easily the coolest thing RevCo-related anyone on the board can lay claim to.

Welcome!

P.S.: “Mr. Lucky” is my friggin’ theme song. [cool]

I think Chris Connelly might disagree with you there…

Oh my god, if the Blownload guys end up the new Revco it’s gonna make the Bradford/Sin line-up sound like Led Zeppelin even to its haters.

Worst. Band. Ever.

True. Motherfucker IS a killing machine.

Sorry for posting and vanishing. I was lucky enough to spend a few days in the hospital with kidney stones. [:|] I’ll read and catch-up on the thread tomorrow- must go lay down some more. Two words: Penis stent.

Yeesh. Get well soon, homes!

Ah, feeling a bit better lately…

To continue with my boring old man RevCo stories, I was sad to learn when R23 left the Cocks, as I loved “You Often Forget”. At their first Metro show I was at least one of the folks who blurted out to Chris C.: “Who the fuck are you?”. [angelic]

Some lesser known facts about the first show:
The date listed is wrong, it was on Sept 5th, not 4th.
The song order they played is different than on the LP/CD.
They played BOTH versions of “Union Carbide”. One was mercifully cut from the album.
There was a recording malfunction at the start and some of the music heard on “Cattle Grind” (and maybe more) was overdubbed in the studio.

Speaking of “You Often Forget”, when RevCo/Ministry played Medusa’s on New Year’s eve, I happened to be watching from the balcony when I noticed Richard 23 hanging out with some cutie. I asked him if he was R23, he said “no”. (Dumb question, dumb answer".
I told him he should be glad not to be on stage with the unfolding atrocity, and he laughed and nodded his head. I told him how much I liked “You Often Forget” and what the hell was it about?
He said it was about some friends of his that fell into more radical circles, and had been caught planting/exploding bombs at NATO bases in Belgium/Europe. How he saw them on TV (the news, I assumed), “They didn’t smile, on your screen- headlights colored red. For one single day, their goodbyes followed us. etc.” and even though they received long jail sentences he hoped to see them again.
“some where you can hear appeals”

Anyway, he may have been snowing me, but I don’t think so. he got very serious while telling me.

Is WEmpathy around in this thread? Did he play live at the Comiskey Park show in 1983? Are there any recordings/video from that show?

^Sweet Story^

Thanks much for sharing!

Now this reminds me of when I saw Josh Bradford walking around at the ministry (c u latour) show a couple years back. Someone said that he did the best live version of beers steers & queers. Must’ve been one of those piss army bitches

I like Josh Bradford quite a bit (haven’t met him personally), but his RevCo work is quite distinct from older stuff, & I don’t see comparing them. When he sings old RevCo I just see it as tribute.

I still wish he’d done Mr. Lucky.
His stage character was perfect for that song.

Still wish I hadn’t missed the cocks during masterbatour. My friend said they put on a better show than Ministry. The setlist from the SF show looked incomplete though. The general setlist at least appeared to have all the classics which would’ve been fine enough for me
