I wantt o buy this but I am afraid. Oh Justin…where are you headed??

Just picked up Godflesh’s self titled lp off ebay. Bought it from none other than LEE DORRIAN (Mr Cathedral/Napalm Death himself). What a score. Great album too. Thanks Lee!

Hey Toot - what do you think of Scorn??

I think they’re great. I think Mick’s online persona is even better though.

You should definately pick it up. It’s still very much jesu.

It is. But, when you say “poppy”, don’t confuse it with Silver. This one’s more “straight-forward” rock if anything. It is poppy though. After hearing it so many times, i’m kinda mixed about it. I like the title track and Deflated, but that might be about it. Seemed like JKB wanted to go the minimal route on this one and keep things incredibly simple, which worked. This sounds like a full-scale band jamming and playing in the studio rather than the the other albums/EPs that had a lot of production really go into them.

Been on a Maynard craze this week. Not listening to anything to anything this particular second (silence is sexy!), but I was listening to Lateralus earlier. How I dismissed the Lateralus and 10,000 Days albums before is just beyond me.

It’s 50/50 good/boring literally. Songs 2 & 4 are worthy but 1 & 3 are not. My main gripe about ‘Opiate Sun’ is JKB’s vox, really lame for the most part. It’s not a great release by any means but neither have any of his jesu ep’s, except of course (and a mighty exception at that!) ‘Heart Ache’ and ‘Silver’. I wouldn’t pay more than $5 for it anyway.

And toot have you got around to ‘Infinity’ yet? If so what do you make of it and have you identified those mystery songs from the Edinburgh gig?

warm leatherette. and my painter friend from cleveland, whose inpiration (at times)was that dumbass song. and yes she be a female.kill me.

A whole mess of Click Click.

And as much as I love Fallout 2’s soundtrack, I can’t help but occasionally turn off the music and insist that Streetcleaner is the soundtrack to the post-apocalypse.

All kinds of shit last played on Ipod

Tangerine Dream - Betrayal (Sorcerer theme)
Cyanotic - Static Screen
The Doors - Waiting For The Sun
Ministry - Breathe
Ministry - Flashback

Blasting DJ Zeph & Azeem’s “Batidas Latinas” right now…it’s par-tay time!

Pink Floyd: ‘The Final Cut’. Roger Waters losing the run of himself. And he complains about the 2 albums without him! Still has nice moments though.

Mad Season: ‘Above’. Maybe the best one-off side project ever.

John Cooper Clarke who ascertains it’s ‘Evidently Chickentown’.

GREYMACHINE: ‘Disconnected’. Would be hard pressed to find a better album of 2009.

Wow…I thought that album was absolute horse shit.

Yay fallout reference!

Listened to nu-metal soundtracks to sub-par movies
Resident Evil and Dracula2000.

After about half way through on each, realised why I don’t listen to this shit anymore… although Drac 2K has some moments w/ Pantera, Slayer, SOAD and Monster Magnet,

I was loving up Heads Explode, yeeeeeeaaaaahhhhhh!

Also Kyuss … and the circus leaves town… love that shit

By no means. On first impression I thought it stodgy and badly produced. But run it through a number of times (better on the move; travelling, walking etc.) and it makes sense. It also reassured me that JKB still has some balls and that he can still make hard music not just the largely metrosexual stuff he has put out lately.

You don’t like ‘noise’ though. You don’t even like Wolf Eyes!!!

I love GreyMachine - the fact that it alienates the Godflesh/Jesu ‘rock’ fanbase is enough for me. It’s a fucking great album, certainly his best since Jesu’s self titled. Some really creepy assed rythms going on underneath all that distortion. It’s just downright evil sounding. A complete mind fuck. Which is an accomplishment in itself. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve heard bands do ‘evil’ only to have them fail miserably.

Hmmmm…anyway, to your credit Toot, you did like Techno Animal’s ‘Re-Entry’ which is killer.

Safe to say I listen to some noisey stuff, but greymachine is kinda ridiculous. Broadrick isn’t showing balls. He’s trying to, but instead has decided to alienate his fanbase. I need some structure. This has very little to none.

Bananasloth.
