What are you listening to right now?

Heh, you’re not alone, porkspam. Mileage is the most important factor, bar none. I don’t really understand how obsessional people in so-cal get with their vehicles, tricking them out, ugly ass decals, etc…Give me something that runs well and doesn’t fail. And yes, a good stereo is so important, my life would be far worse without hearing the music I like while driving places

well now. once had a plymouth fury 3 convertible. smokin’ ride 72, i wanna say. farmer’s tan out the window no longer confined to the arm. greasy, comfortable, cool.
carmangary, that piece of crap your uncle gave you is a jewel. c’mon. and your jokes are always bad, but wtf. so are mine. man.your visuals steal the show.

no meds ever, btw is my mantra, and none suggested by the couch cushion(i mean the guy on the chair across from the couch)
l be listening to neil young, oddly enough.
icepick, the funniest band name i saw this week (and yell if i’m too old to know it’s been around) is dumpstaphunk.
what next. freestyle signholdin’ wave.

shrink told me i had eight (8) traumas to get over. crap. and all i thought was 80’s depeche mode. DAMN.
wink. thanks for the thoughts dudes.
i remain faithfully yours, especiale eduardo.

I hope the rocks in your head line up pretty fast, buddy! I know it’s not fun feeling like the frowny blob from the zoloft commercials! Sometimes that shrink couch is super comfortable and the only thing you need is a little nap on it!

Coil: Tainted love

Classic.

Just finally got around to getting Connelly’s new album, it’s good, but I need to listen to it without doing so many things at once. And I also got around to getting Thirty-Second Annual Report from TG. It was mentioned here before, but I had no idea what it was until last night - fucking amazing! And i’ve still been listening to the new Porcupine Tree as well. Those three albums have been steady rotation since i’ve got each of them, granted, I got two of them yesterday.

Stuck on Heather Nova’s Oyster album, again. The only thing prettier than this woman’s face is her voice and her face is hard to top, as she is quite beautiful!
Try on some “Island”!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRxtWvv-QCI

The intro (and 2:41-3:00) reminds me of what those mythological creatures, “Sirens”, probably sounded like. The bird women that had the most beautiful voices and would lure sailors to their death by singing to them.
The songs “verona”,“Doubled up”, “Sugar” and “Maybe An Angel” are the particular stand outs but the whole album is fantastic!!!
The only song that really doesn’t fit with the album is “Walk This World” (most Americans, this is all they know of her, if the know her at all, as this song was the only one that barely got any publicity back in '95 or so. Although, I hear she’s gigantic in Europe!) Even though, this is still a fantastic song, just doesn’t fit with the mood of the album, so it’s probably good that they put it first on the cd to get it out of the way!

Frank Zappa - Joes Garage

I have heard a few Zappa discs before, but this one is really great! Only heard first disc so far, but loving it.

been watching the two flint movies, and the noise within is stabbing my brain. as far as incidental/soundtrack music, hard to beat.

Dimmu Borgir.

Fuck you.

Dimmu Borgir.

Fuck you.

Haha. Depends on which album imo. I like some of the earlier stuff like Stormblast, etc. The remake and the new stuff is a bit mediocre though. I tried to play devil’s advocate and say “well, maybe cause I got older…”, but that’s not the case.

Starting to discover Neurosis. Listening to The Eye of Every Storm. Also, I had some Tear Garden play earlier. Safe to say i’m ready for some new stuff from cEvin.

That tends to be alot of people’s favorite album of his, or at least in thier top ten of his

Bobby Beausoleil - The Lucifer Rising Suite box set

Nothing like the music of a convicted murderer and Manson Family member to ease you into a sunny Monday morning.

don’t know man, sometimes it’s easier on the ears to listen to the christmas cats. or, as i dug through my boxes of crap, i discovered a copy of the sonny and cher christmas show, sent via TKK.
hey man, if i can’t have fun, what’s the point.
velvet underground venus in furs.
i have a limited edition of the sacher masoch book, for which the song is named. if anyone’s interested. from that name, comes the term sado-masochism.
pretty black book sits on my shelf.i know there’s that merchandise link here, but, wtf.

Yes it is…Wait until you hear Act III. The trifecta of He Used to Cut the Grass-Packard Goose-Watermelon in Easter Hay is possibly one of the best stretches of Zappa music in his whole catalog. Easter Hay in particular is almost heartbreakingly beautiful, can’t say that about many Zappa pieces, haha.

Southern Lord’s “Within The Church of Thee Overlords II” comp.

Marvin Gaye “What’s Going On”

what’s goin’ on is the most brilliant piece of desperation. and brings a tear. i probably listen to that once or twice a day. just to get in the groove. i grew up with that, not fully knowing what was going on at the time, but the spirit of the song is (in your word, toot) devastating.
fuck me to find a better one.
grew up around a lot of shit. and a lot of salsa midriff wearing dancers listening to the same thing.(but more concerned with the fania allstars. who i thought were pretty badasss for what they accomplished. didn’t like the music.
work in this stupid business, and you appreciate that time now or tomorrow, when it’s easy to say hello to someone who’s pretty or ready for induction into the catalogue of history.
lots of uglies out there and people who don’t matter.
