What are you listening to right now?

New Sleep.

Unfortunately, Matt Pike is not part of it. Matt was replaced by Bubba Dupree. Not bad but definitely misses Matt. Interestingly, Dale Crover has replaced Jason Roeder. It’s not the Sleep that I love and sounds a bit generic. I think I’m going to cry.

Edit: The more I listen to this, the more I think WTF!?! No Matt - No Sleep. You can’t replace Matt Pike’s tone and style. They should have called this something other than Sleep because it’s not.

Rather watching someone’s attempt at upscaling gnr at the ritz, my dvd set looks better but it is uncensored and full show.

Guess who’s 40 next year… appetite!!

Just got through and actually it’s longer than my version, my version cut out some crowd banter and cut out the crowd waiting for the encore. There’s other versions that cut out ma ma kin all together .

I liked this single, but it ain’t Sleep. No Matt, no Sleep. I don’t care what kind of pedigree the replacements have (and Dale Crover comes with some pretty serious experience), it’s not Sleep.

is it really uncensored or is it just that rehash where somebody dubbed in axl saying fuck from some other show?

It’s the very 1st version I seen back when it was recorded, I remember it well and haven’t seen it again untill now, there’s so many version copies out there but this is the longest run time I’ve seen on this. And what’s really weird is I can hear vinyl clicks throughout.
The earliest copies didn’t include ma ma kin, other versions cut ma ma kin and the track after that which is the last track.
The band took a long time to come out for an encore and that seemed to always be cut when it got aired.
It’s the real deal, just wish it was upscaled properly.

Another noted difference, my copy slash talks to the crowd long enough to introduce a song, this version he goes on for a few minutes.

Thats cool, i think i have a couple versions of that show. They all say uncensored but really what they mean is uncut because axl is still bleeped, some have his speech from heaven’s door talking about if the crowd dont participate “they’re gonna think we’re the sloppiest band in the world, but i really dont give a fuck” but I’ve read it was broadcast that way and no actual uncensored versions exist.
Yeah slash introduces i think (its been so long since ive listened to that show) nightrain as “a walk in the park” and not about addiction or anything else.
