Shriekback-Sacred City
Oh Jesus I loooooved Sacred City when it came out, spun it hundreds of times over five years or so. Haven’t heard it in ages, gonna change that.
Ahhh, green…it’s so good, man…I hadn’t heard it in some time…the album before that one was called Go Bang! and it was their attempt at commercial stardom and it was their biggest misfire…a pretty dire album…but they took a 4 year break and went back to their roots with Sacred City and made their greatest record, imo… then it came out and sunk like a stone and they broke up until 2000…they always seemed like a band destined for more but it just didn’t happen…anyway ,after all my rambling, yes,Sacred City is a lost gem…
Need to check out Sacred City. Oil and Gold has been in heavy rotation for the past several years. Go Bang is fun too, Shark Walk is an insanely catchy song.
Oil and Gold is also great…you are on your own with Go Bang! though, hahaha
The Edgar Broughton Band-Bandages
Wow,what a strange lost gem of the 70s…
Roxy Music - Stranded
Prince - Sign O’ The Times
Cowboy Junkies - The Trinity Session
Yeah been really digging this album since reading your post. It was a little concerned the production would sound super dated but it really holds up.
Surprised to see they’ve done a bunch of albums in the last decade. Once I feel caught up on Sacred City I’ll dip in and see how they are.
Side note: When “Animal Nation” got released on the Wax Trax box set it made me realize how much Al’s vocals from that era were influenced by Shriekback, I hear it in Twitch too after I noticed it in that track.
I remember hearing this ages ago. And I always thought it was hilarious that John fettuccine (or whatever pasta name) wanted to join Zappa. Then the fucker becomes a real “living dead” type.
I’ve real mixed feelings about him anymore. Johnny Pasta that is.

Find it annoying the press thinks Paul plays all over the new album. When, clearly, the credits show he’s on one track!!?
He’s on HOPIUM? Which track?!
He’s not.
Paul D’Amour is on one track.

Yeah…. Paul.
It’s Not Pretty.
And here I was thinking you meant Paul Barker. Brainfart…
It’s pretty funny that Ministry has had 3 bass players named Paul.
