What are you listening to right now?

Yep…Frank had a zero tolerance rule about drug use in his bands and several were let go for not adhering to that…I’ve read every book published about FZ and the Mother’s …one of the best ones was actually by his secretary(she actually did a number of different tasks for him aside from secretarial work)Pauline Butcher… incredible stories about living at Franks famous cabin house in Laurel Canyon back in the late 60s/early 70s…

I found that Bill Rieflin cd in the ‘alternative’ section of a record store some years back. It was a used copy but still in good nick. I like it well enough, but to be honest, it’s something I’d put on maybe once a year…if that.

I’m listening to King Crimson’s ‘Reconstrukction Of Light’ vinyl quite a bit these days. If you don’t already own a copy, I highly suggest you run out and grab a copy (on vinyl, it’s better!). It’s basically a new improved mix of the Construkcion Of Light album.

Pigface ‘Gub’ is ok but the production is awful.

I love God’s ‘Posession’ album, but it’s a hard listen. Requires patience and a dark setting.

I recommend you check out ‘Embedded’ by Meathook Seed. Sounds like it might be your kind of thing.

Currently playing:

Scorn - Evanescence
Cabaret Voltaire - Red Mecca
Napalm Death - Fear, Emptiness, Despair
DJ Spooky - Songs Of A Dead Dreamer
Bill Laswell - In Dub

Scorn Evanescence is a classic dub album…huge fan of Laswell also…speaking of which Mick Harris is currently creating beats and doing drums for a new Painkiller project…John Zorn reached out to him and Laswell despite having some recent health problems is ready to go…psyched for that…

That’s great news! I’ve been listening a fair bit to my Painkiller box set (“Execution Ground” 3CD) lately, and I had forgotten how exciting it is! Especially the “Execution Ground” album itself and its companion ‘dub’ disc, but also the fantastic live disc with Yamatsuka Eye’s madness added to the mix. Amazing, and funny as hell

OT: I’ve been on a total Melt-Banana bender lately. What a band!!

Yeah Execution Ground is incredible…and Yamatsuka was nuts in that band with his crazy psychotic screaming…Mick Harris did crazy vocals on there as well…
