‘Polish Night Music’ by David Lynch & Marek Zebrowski
Great dark ambient material. Just a Korg synthesizer and a piano.

were david lynch polish,hm. the mind wanders…
lynch is so much into meditation.
someone i know was a on a flight with him and david lynch clutched his laptop and stared straight ahead for the three hour duration. didn’t say a word.
no gossip queen he.
perhaps he has a phobia about motion.
don’t know.
Inspired by another thread on Prongs, I am listening to Marilyn Manson’s Smells Like Children.
Am dancing around the bedroom in my barely there thong undies to:
Merzbow - Tentacle
Merzbow/Gore Beyond Necropsy - Rectal Anarchy

I’ve no time for his TM stuff. It’s grown really repetitive and has always been wholly unconvincing. I no longer am bothered reading or listening to an interview with him because it always descends into him talking about it. Boring.
He makes some excellent films and music however, that is always interesting.
as an artist, david lynch can use whatever tools at his disposal to wake him up in the morning and get back to the crazyfest of his mind.
primal scream therapy was pretty bogus too, and i don’t know if that swept over the art world and greatness was achieved.i think the answer is no. but let’s look at the product achieved by the artists we like.
i forgot, the other day, that stanley kubrick directed the original “lolita”. kubrick was a total mental case about the english language.lolita was his screaming tribute to the english language.
and of course, there’s the story about the girl who has an adventure with the stepfather. i forgot.
lynch is in an extraordinary position of being able to contribute (effectively) music for film. he does his own music. often.
so does mike judge, for godsakes, and robert rodriguez.
I still haven’t gotten around to seeing Inland Empire yet, but will soon. I do hope this new collaboration between him and Alejandro Jodorowsky gets made. King Shot will be the first film Jodorowsky has directed in 19 years. Nick Nolte, Asia Argento, Udo Kier and Marilyn Manson are all signed onto it.
doesn’t lynch direct the new video for moby’s new album?
Just got (almost) my entire Ministry collection back from a friend after months of separation. I’ve missed my babies.
Playing everything off “DSOTS,” “The Perfect Pair,” and topping that off with “Dream Song.”
David Lynch went to the same Bob’s Big Boy restaurant everyday for seven years and ordered the same thing (two cheeseburgers, fries, apple pie, coffee and two large chocolate shakes) every single time.
The same meal everyday for seven years. What a fruitcake!!!
I saw that on a cable tv show about famous people and their fast food habits.
I also learnt that Mariah Carey has several boxes of Krispy Kreme donuts delivered to her house twice a week.

is Lynch a big fat guy? that sounds like a lot of food!

If this thread were to consume food, that’s what it would eat daily.

He’s pretty thin. Smokes like a chimney though, I bet that is why. I use the same strategy.

You can bet that is an exaggeration, simply because he is very unlikely to be in the same place everyday for 7 years and that sticking to that diet for such a lengthy time without differentiation (and presuming he ate nothing else in the day otherwise he would be a lardass, regardless of metabolism) would kill anyone.
I know he is/was a fiend for coffee alright.
@ChemicalMeat: I am also looking forward to the Lynch/Jodorowsky collaboration just as much as the Lynch/Herzog collaboration.
If you’re going to watch INLAND EMPIRE, watch it in a dark room with a loud sound system. Do note that it is 3 hours and is somewhat of an endurance but it’s worth it. The music is excellent, a great soundtrack to pick up.
david lynch did visit the same big boy day after day. rey washum lived a couple of blocks away, for a while.
Finally got King Midas Sound’s Dub Heavy Hearts & Ghosts EP…DEVASTATING!!!

Damn dude, MONTHS OF SEPERATION! I’d go crazy w/o my copy of Rape And Honey, you must have some good trusty friends. I’d never let anyone borrow my Ministry collection or any collection for that matter, I’d say something like “u want to borrow my cd? then u can listen to it right here on my stereo motherfucker”.
Neubauten - Abstieg & Zerfall
Junior Boys - High Come Down

It’s not an exaggeration. I have seen the doco where this fact is mentioned. They even interviewed the old woman who used to serve him. She remembered him because he said ‘gosh’ alot and wore a bow tie and looked like a teenager. I believe it was around the time he was making Eraserhead - which took at least 5 years to complete because they had no money. So he would have been in the same place for a while.
I have read Lynch’s bio and it does mention his going to a Bob’s Big Boy.
When you think about it - him doing that is very ‘Lynch’ in itself. I can imagine it happening. And I don’t think that diet would necessarily kill someone either. I know someone who grew up in Kentucky and he pretty much lived on cheap food like fried chicken, coca cola, fries, donuts, coffee and cigarettes while he was trying to make it in the music business. He never did make it as a musician but he never died as a result of his diet.
I often wonder what old Al’s diet is like. Can’t imagine him watchin the calories and chowin’ down on steamed broccoli and tofu.

No, my brother, you got to buy your own.
