I’m one of the 32 people who loves Tin Machine
PJ Harvey-Dry
PJ Harvey-Rid of Me
Both PJ are fantastic. I was just listening yesterday when I was replacing the vanity in the bathroom.
I would also throw on To Bring You My Love and White Chalk. Anything is else a bit hit or miss.
Yeah sounds like you and I are on the same page regarding PJ…I don’t think she’s ever made a bad album but the ones you mentioned are pretty much perfect to my ears while the others are patchy but still really good…I saw her once in the mid 90s and she was a force to be reckoned with… immensely talented…
I saw PJ a few times. 1st time back in '92 at St. Andrews. I didn’t really want to go but it didn’t cost me anything. I basically was a metal head back then. After about 1 minute I was thrilled I ended up going. PJ was great and made a life long fan. She was at her best in '95. Saw her a couple times that year. Absolutely freaking electric.
Yeah 95 was when I saw her for the first time it was just pure electricity…incredible …saw her another time in the early 2000s which was a slightly more toned down affair but still really good…I’ll always have massive respect for her…
Buck 65 - Vertex
David Sylvian - Gone to Earth
PJ Harvey -Is This Desire?
Forgot to mention I also think this one is perfect, prologue…dark, depressive, haunting…well, yes…but also atmospheric and magical…I’m listening to nothing but PJ and David Sylvian until Friday and then it’s on to some stuff that doesn’t leave me as pleasingly exhausted…
I like Is This Desire? as well though not as much as I like Dry/Rid of Me/To Bring You My Love/White Chalk. I like it a lot more now than I did when it first dropped. It’s kind of grown on me over the years.
