I honestly don’t know.
It may just be a modern production thing, but it just feels too thin and sterile. I always felt Ozzy put a little more bluesy stank on his playing, but it’s possible it’s him. I also kinda feel they use Ozzy in a more minimal capacity and don’t want to make him do more than necessary (though I think, all things considered, he’s looked pretty great lately) so that’s part of my doubt as well.
Im just glad he’s still doing shit and living his best life… and that none of his 453 retirements ever stuck.
Yeah it did sound a little overproduced and nothing near the raw grittiness of something like The Wizard for instance…pretty sure it’s him though…he just went through that surgery…heard him on some podcast talking about the procedure…amazing he is still kicking
I honestly don’t recall what his latest round of surgery was. I’ll have to look him up. It really is incredible that he’s still kicking. He’s had so many surprise comebacks and he never ceases to amaze me. When Sabbath was doing their “final tour” around 2014, just a day or two before my stop in Vegas (Mandalay Bay Events Center), Ozzy was having some health troubles and sickness and I thought for sure they were gonna cancel the show. But the show went on, and holy shit, he was on fire!!! Absolute fucking top form, all of them. They sounded incredible and Ozzy was in amazing spirits and high energy.
Damn I envy you for seeing Sab on that final tour…I still kick myself for missing that… glad I saw them many times over the years in various incarnations…
Sick of it All is one of those bands I always hear about but never dove into very heavily…I’ve heard bits and pieces but nothing substantial…what’s a good place to start with them?
