New york ninja soundtrack via bandcamp 320, also got the vinyl ordered via Mondo.
Incredible stuff.
The Harder They Come soundtrack - over and over
Arcade Fire - WE
Sharon Van Etten - We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong
I’ve been listening to WE, too. It’s pretty good.
Richard and Linda Thompson- I Want to see The Bright Lights Tonight
A lot of jam bands:
Primus
Ween
Phish
Matisyahu
No Grateful Dead tho… I can only dive so deep in this murky pool…
Just saw Primus Tues night…fun like always
I’ve seen Primus about fifteen times. They USUALLY put in a great show, but I’ve seen them shit the bed on occasion. I think that has more to do with my having seen them play 15 times – nobody’s perfect, they’ll eventually fuck up.
Depends on Les’ mood. I saw them tour for the Brown Album and he did NOT look pleased. They played the usual set and didn’t encore.
Peter Murphy- Should the World Fail to Fall Apart
I’ve had good luck every time I’ve seen Primus(probably 10 times)…never seen a bad show although I’ve heard people echo what you say …
Tom Waits-Swordfishtrombones
Tom Waits-Rain Dogs
Tom Waits-Franks Wild Years
Great shit right there.
nP:
Zappa. Zappa. And more Zappa. The Zappa Never Stops.
Oh dude, Zappa…now that’s my shit…
Morbid Angel - Altars Of Madness
The Cult - Ceremony
David Lee Roth - Your Filthy Little Mouth
Magnum - Vigilante
Dark Tranquility - Moment
Kirk hammet - portals mp3 but got lucky enough to get the vinyl as well.
What’s your favorite zappa? Mine is absolutely free and greasy love songs aka the original version of rueban and the jets.
I’m curious about Magnum now since I’m cool with everything else on your list.
I’ve been listening to a lot of the live stuff. Right now I’m obsessed with Halloween 77. Overnite Sensation and One Size Fits All are groovy too.
Overnite Sensation…great one!
It’s funny that you have been listening to both Ween and Zappa because they both seem to suffer from the same syndrome: everyone has heard of them but how many have actually heard them? You could never get a sense of what either are about by just listening to a few songs or even a few albums…of course Frank was way more prolific…they both get classified as “joke bands” and yet are immensely talented and then get tragically ignored for having a sense of humor…
Zappa is my favorite artist of all time and has been for decades…my obsession with his music has known no bounds over the years…Ween I came to a bit later(the late 90s) but love them more with every listen…about to put on The Mollusk now…
