It’s a solid album. I tend to like Slayer’s less-popular albums more (altho not “Diabolus In Musica”) than their regular stuff. Did u know it came out on 9/11/01?

I think nothing else in their catalog can top their unholy trinity of Reign,South and Seasons but I do like their other later stuff…some of it gets unreasonably hated on…

Agreed.
Not sure what, if any, can really be hated on. There are definitely standout monsters in the catalog, as noted above, but everything else… it’s Slayer, sounding like Slayer doing Slayer shit.

I look at it similar to the libraries of AC/DC or Motörhead. Just because it’s not “Back in Black” or “Ace of Spades” doesn’t mean “Ballbreaker” or “The World Is Yours” suck. Even the “weak” albums are better than 90% of the other bullshit out there. Judas Priest is a good example too. I’m sometimes a bit disappointed at an album, but that’s because I’m comparing it to the best Priest albums instead of everything else around it at any given time.

Buck 65 - weirdo magnet.
Long live T.T.P.B’s!!!

Resident Evil - 4 OST - Biohazard 4 Disc 1 (Darkness Side)

I like Diabolus. It’s better than God Hates Us. Considerably better.

The latter is a good, but not great album. Still, I think it receives far too much hate.

Neither of them though, can even touch the absolute masterpiece that is Christ Illusion, with a ten foot pole.

Edguy - The Savage Poetry
Iron Maiden - Somewhere Back in Time (Best Of)

Came in the mail this morning only.

I’ll go to bat for Flick of the Switch any day of the week…

Cirith Ungol are way overlooked…

I agree as far as Christ Illusion is concerned. Why that record doesn’t get more respect is beyond me.

I like the idea behind Cirith Ungol, but to me, the vox are cringeworthy…

The vox grew on me after listening to them more…

Tomorrow is a big day for extreme metal heads:

  • Zeal & Ardor, s/t : This shit is straight-up fire, do not miss this
  • Napalm Death, Resentment Is Always Seismic “mini-album” : sounds just like ND, whaddya want
  • Author & Punisher, Kruller - more melodic than their other shit, and it suits them fine

I got to meet them a few years back.

Soft Machine-Third
Floyd-Atom Heart Mother
A bunch of John Carpenter scores
