they’re worth downloading or buying… especially the earlier stuff… i think uplift mofo was the old line-ups best

I spent most of 1990 with that album on high rotation (I was a very impressionable 16 year old at the time).
Brings back fond memories. The first side of Freaky Styley is bliss - hands down the best music they ever created.
A pity what they eventually became.

I saw The Red Hot Chili Peppers in L.A in 1985 - not long after that album came out. They were playing a gig with The Butthole Surfers. It was hands down the wildest thing I have ever seen. Naked dancers, flame throwers, surgical autopsy footage, entire audience tripping on bad acid…
These days we get Blink 182 or whoever making ‘booby’ and ‘pee pee’ jokes!

Hey great find icey, sometimes Goodwill has a few gems amongst the clutter. I once found a vinyl copy of Severed Heads Since the Accident, and Young Gods Envoye in a pile of old gospel records [:)]
