What are you listening to right now?

Alice Cooper: “The Studio Albums: 1969-1983”

This Alice boxset is badass!!! It was $60 from an Amazon seller and has EVERY album up to 1983, even his crazy coked out ones.

I was going to buy “Special Forces” and “Zipper Catches Skin” anyway, and that would have already put me back $30 at least, but this set has 15 total albums!!! Great value!

I was taking a look at that box set last month when I was on a big Cooper bender…I was listening to Killer,Pretties for You,Billion Dollar Babies and Welcome to my Nightmare on rotation for 2 weeks non stop…[/reply]

It’s a great deal. A few were copies for me, but it’s a helluva deal if there are a few you need anyway. And it’s a great way to keep them well organized in one tidy box. Some people complained about the lack of liner notes and inserts, but that doesn’t phase me as I typically just take a CD out and put it in my car and don’t really look at the booklets much anymore. I wish they would have added track titles to them so it would display on my car’s dash what song is what track number, but they didn’t ever really do this before anyway, so whatever.

I highly recommend it. It brings you instantly complete up to 1983 and, by default, you end up getting some albums that you’d never end up getting and finding some really cool stuff.

I bought from the first listing, MARVELIO, as it was the cheapest ($60 total). He had it (brand new, still sealed in original plastic) within a week of ordering it.

Yes!
And if it wasn’t for some really terrible clients being in town a couple weeks ago and screwing up my schedule, I would have had my finger on the trigger to buy tickets for that ROXY show they are doing in LA. I hope they expand to more tour dates and am hopeful that the Thanksgiving show that Alice has done the last 3 years in a row (one has not been announced this year, but Alice’s schedule has a gap in it) in Vegas will come to town as a Vampires gig.

UPDATE . . . . I was working my way through in chronological order and THOUGHT each album just had a single sleeve, but there’s more . . .

They have actually reproduced the sleeves and such as miniature versions of the original LP’s. So, if the album (like Billion Dollar Babies) was a gatefold . . . so is the CD version in this pack. AND they do include miniature versions of the insert pages (lyrics, group photos, etc. . . . . even the BILLION DOLLAR BILL from the aforementioned album).

This boxset is really a great collection and an incredible value.

I ordered it today along with the 16 cd 1 dvd Blue Oyster Cult box set…!!!

NICE!!!

My wife is doing the driving today as we’re heading out to Vegas. The only CD’s I put in her car was my conveniently-sized Alice box. So shiny. So chrome.

As long as it’s Alice Cooper and not anything to do with that terrible radio station, Alice @ 97.3

I think the KLF’s “Chill Out” is a very strong contender for the best album ever made. It’s making a lot of stupid, unnecessarily turbulent things make a lot of sense.
