The Smiths - Meat is Murder

The Smiths - Meat is Murder

Delicious, flame-broiled murder…

Ha ha ha ha ha!!!

Some interviewer once pointed out to Morrissey the irony of being a vegetarian and yet wearing leather shoes and a suede jacket.

Morrissey fixed him with a death stare.

Now I feel like a bacon sandwich…

Always loved that Krush/Kondo record…lovely stuff…I saw Kondo and Krush on several occasions playing in Laswell ensemble’s…both amazing at their craft…

How is that Earth vs Bug? Never got around to that one…

How is that, btw? I picked it up but haven’t listened to it yet. (Too busy listening to “Toronto 1986.”)

Earth / Bug is way shorter than it should be given the participants, but very effective. Great mix of K-Mart low end and a kind of “high plains” guitar sound at points…

And yes, Kondo in particular is great, when it comes to expressive range…there are some very mediocre records that came out of the “trip hop” and “acid jazz” booms, but the cool atmosphere on this one is terrific - never strays into ‘Starbucks chillout’ mode

If you like Hawkwind and Can you will probably like it…I really dig it and need to hear it again as I only heard it once while I had minor distractions…

Yeah, totally agree…did you ever hear the Charged stuff…Kondo/Krush/Laswell?

Or wait was that Eraldo Bernocchi instead of Krush? So many fucking Laswell albums/projects that I confuse these days…

there must have been something involving both Eraldo Bernocchi and Toshinori Kondo. Actually I believe the Sigillum S record I mentioned above features them both (as SS was for a long time Bernocchi’s main project), though it is not like a “record length” collaboration between them. Kondo just guests on it.

The Bernocchi / Laswell team-up I particularly liked was “Equations of Eternity” with Mick Harris also adding programming here and there.

That’s an amazing show. Saw Voivod / Napalm Death last February here in the states. Spectacular.
