Saw them a couple years ago and they’re the only band I’ve ever walked out on because they were too loud…

I first heard about them from the movie Brainscan (the song from the first death scene), and I was hooked! Took me awhile to find some of their stuff anywhere. It’s also a trip how they have a connection to Nirvana and Soundgarden.

Judas Priest - Unleashed In The East
I typically play this back to back with “No Sleep Til Hammersmith” on long interstate drives. My usual avant-weirdo fare just doesn’t lend itself well to blazing across those vast stretches of nothingness in Texas and Illinois, and you need something like Halford’s balls-in-a-vice falsetto on ‘Victim of Changes’ to cut through the hypnotizing drone of wheels on road.
In the immortal words of the drunken goofball in ‘Heavy Metal Parking Lot’…“Rob Halford…is the baddest mutherfuckin sanger…a-ROOOOUNNND!”
Can’t forget about that really haggard chick! “I’d jump his bones…”
Unleashed In The East is the best way to listen to Judas Priest, unless you actually go see them.

See? ^ There’s that see saw stat I was talking about When I posted the “what makes Peligro happy” thread.
Well, The Prodigy certainly doesn’t make me happy. Unless of course I’m watching them drive off a cliff in a school bus.

Well, the Prodigy are involved in one of my favorite ever botched attempts to explain a “controversial” track…
…'round the time of “Smack My Bitch Up”, when one of the band claimed that the track was not, in fact, about violence towards women, but about “achieving manic energy…so, you could say that the Prodigy are ‘smacking the bitch up’ onstage.”
So, too bad that never caught on and became a full-blown entry into the English slang glossary. You know, after teaching ESL to a class of elementary school kids and getting them engaged in activities, I could report back to my superiors like “I’m really happy with the kids’ progress today. They really smacked the bitch up this time.”

Funny to see all the Prodigy hatred on here. I remember getting Fat Of The Land for Xmas in 1997, and I’d probably still enjoy it for the nostalgia factor. I still sometimes wonder what the “poem” in the cd booklet means…
