I’ve been a Zappa fanatic for decades…the single most important musician in my life…he doesn’t get a lot of love on this board though…

I’m surprised he doesn’t get much love on this board. I’m not a fan but he seems like something that everyone would at least CLAIM to like.
I like Zappa sparingly. Too much free form space cadet jazz noodling for my taste overall, but I like a good handful of the more rockin’ SONGS. “Zombie Woof”, “My Guitar Wants To Kill Your Mama”, etc.
For me,hearing him for the first time changed everything I had previously thought possible for music…it was that seminal moment in my life where everything shifted…I went on the most obsessive quest for his stuff that you could ever imagine…he is my favorite guitarist and favorite musician of all time…that being said,I totally get why he doesn’t appeal to everyone and I absolutely understand when someone isn’t able to get in to all his stuff…
