No, it’s not a joke. It’s a 2cd compilation of Morricone’s more ‘out there’ stuff. Very decent too. Probably best place to start if you are a Morricone virgin (blushes).
There’s also a very decent comp called…‘The Happening’ (??) which collects the more psychedelic tracks from his back catalogue.
I have quite a decent Morricone collection - love the guy. One of my all time faves is the Exorcist 2: The Heretic soundtrack. Very creepy choir and voodoo stuff!!
I would also recommend Secret Chiefs if you haven’t heard them. A band formed by Trey from Mr Bungle - their Morricone influences are MORE than obvious. But they are very good - fantastic live too!
