Japanese post-hardcore band Envy. Why these guys never caught on with the TRL crowd, I’ll never know.

Al and Scaccia are both on that album. It’s a friggin’ masterpiece. One of the better and underrated metal/industrial/whatever bands of the 90’s.
Yeah, I always thought that album was criminally overlooked. Might give it a spin now. Thanks for the heads up.[/reply]
I think the problem with it (at least in terms of why it didn’t become a hit) was that, even though it was fresh and original when it came out, it would only be a year or two before everyone and their grandmas were putting out something like itl The industrial metal thing just got ridiculous and so homogenised by the mid-90’s.[/reply]
Word.
I think this record’s on my top ten industrial metal records now. So friggin’ choice.
Gonna spin a marathon of industrial metal now.
Skrew - Burning in Water, Drowning in Flame
Klute - Excluded
Scorn - Vae Solis
Slab! - Descension
Malformed Earthborn - Defiance of the Ugly By the Merely Repulsive
All my friends like the Smiths. It’s practically a requirement for anyone in the hardcore scene or anyone with a human soul, I guess. I’m not quite into 'em.
[laugh]
Spinning Skrew’s Burning in Water, Drowning in Flame. Unless Charlemagne was a REALLY fucked up dude behind the scenes, their song of the same name has nothing to do with him. Still a killer song, and according to the liner notes, Al J does guitars on it.
Skrew reminds me of a better version of White Zombie.
They shoulda been big, but oh well it’s a treasure waiting to be found.
Skrew reminds me of a better version of White Zombie.
This is also true. I was thinking the same last night. The stompy chunky rhythms are quite similar.
danny lohner is awesome.
Die Antwoord

I’ve decided these guys are the Laibach of rap.

Fa sho’.
Spinnin’ now…
The best Goddamned record might have been supplanted. I just found out what E6 actually is, and it puts the Pounder record into an entirely different perspective all together.
I might use my YouTube channel for something other than favoriting terrible videos and getting a kick out of drama and host the record. Jesus. Good stuff.
I suppose in honour of Bill McKinney, who died two days ago, Beers, Steers & Queers will get a spin
He is survived by “several ex-wives”. Nice.
Rage against the machine, for the past week.
Late,

Game Show - Ministry
Doesn’t get much attention but it’s a great one.
A ton of Wire…mainly Pink Flag. That album simply rules. At some point I’m going to lash out and dedicate a thread to it.
En Esch. Mona Mur.
<3
After listening to that terrrible Buck Satan album I just had to get it outta my system and play some real country.
Kevin Fowler - Beer, Bait and Ammo
Smashing Pumpkins - Gish and Siamese Dream reissues. They sound amazing.
Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross - The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
If you liked The Social Network soundtrack and Ghosts I-IV, you’ll like this. If you’re hoping for another angsty screamy thing like he used to do, you won’t.
Forgot all about that? I heard about a six track sampler coming out.
The sampler came out earlier this week.
You can get the full (three hour!) album today.
Holy shit! Doesn’t get repetitive?
Not really. But y’know, it’s soundtrack/ambient stuff. Like I said, if you dig his other atmospheric work you’ll like this. But it’s not exactly catchy or anything.
