I’ve always liked Nik Fiend. Where other performers going for some creepy zombie or alien look just come across as cheap and fake and trying too hard (and I’m including most of the spikety spiked blackety black metal dudes) Mr. Fiend always seemed authentic to me.
I’ve never seen him out of character or anything, so I don’t have any comparison, but his artistic presentation of himself never seemed forced or artificial. He just seemed like he really was a creepy little (and kind of lovable) monster. I think that’s very admirable to pull off something like that effectively.
