What are you listening to right now?

Of course, Shadowblack was NOT old school EBM, so no telling what they’re putting together 10 years later.

Cartagena…this is a brilliant Columbian compilation that has just dropped with some absolute stompin gems from waaaaaaaaaay back in the day.

Also been thrashing Kode9 & Spaceape’s new album Black Sun…it’s superb stuff too.

And last but not least…Fudge Fingas debut LP.

New KMFDM and ohGr. Mostly KMFDM.

What are you wearing right now would be a fun thread if I could actually start it, but my computer or something won’t let me.
I’m wearing my brand spankin’ new swans shirt, compliments of senor Gira. Paul saw them here recently and did the swag swap. they have his pedals and we get their swag. nice to be friends with people who matter.

Nothing flattering at all. Maybe why we never started it, heh. I look like a cook ATM (chef pants and coat).

After hearing RW sing at Retrospectacle, I dug out my <PIG> discs again.

With all of that retrospectacle talk, I ended up listening to a lot of 242.

The new Rasputina
Florence + The Machine

I really like the new KMFDM. I think it’s up there with their classic albums.

All this talk of the new KMFDM album has pushed me to download it.

Otherwise: ‘Chicks & Speed’, ‘Rubber Glove Seduction’, catscars’ ‘Construction’, and ‘Messiah’

Yeah, it’s pretty great. Been awhile since i’ve been able to say that, but it’s true. Ohgr…not sure…

Haven’t heard the new OhGr. I was pleasantly surprised by Devil In My Details. Is it similar or more like the previous (not nearly as good IMO) OhGr releases?

As for the new KMFDM, it really blows my mind how good the album is. I didn’t expect the gang to have that in them. I’m listening to “Amnesia” right now, it’s a killer track, like the best stuff off of “Sinsation” without the typical Watts bullshit. I also now feel Lucia completely rules, no matter what anyone else says, she slays on every track she’s on. Also ol’ Sasha’s voice has become a lot more flexible these days. Finally, I like how KMFDM adds some modern EBM sounds to the mix. They seem to actually evolve with the times, instead of ignoring everything in music later than their peak days. I hope this album does really well for them.

Jane’s Addiction - Ritual De Lo Habitual

Went and saw them during the tour for this album in 1990. Great show!!!

First time I’m hearing this album in 10 years.

Forgot how good it was. Three Days and Then She Did in particular.

Wasn’t aware the new KMFDM dropped. Stoked.

Spinnin’ Cocks.

Favorite album EVER! No One’s Leaving, Then She Did, Obvious. Fucking magic!

As for as unDeveloped goes. It’s certainly a poppy album, but nothing like the first two albums. Very dark album. First track, 101, has a very Assimilate-like vibe. The sounds on here sound pretty minimal. A poppier DIMD? Sounds like ohGr though.

blackouts, oddly enough. i adore the minimal. probably why i always loved gregorian chants. still do.

I’m not altogether taken with the new KMFDM to be honest. It definitely trails off. But maybe I’m just partial to En Esch and Mona instead of Sascha and his bird.

The most recent Final album however I find sweet. When JKB churns out heavy or heavier music in short succession they tend to wane but I’ve never been disappointed with Final.

Recommendoos for ‘The Apple Never Falls Far From The Tree’

i’m on the fence with new KMFDM.
