Yeah Tool would be the obvious one. They are out here in Australia next month to promote it. A new Radiohead is always something to anticipate aswell, especially since this new one is meant to be very much in the vein of Kid A.

Hated Golden Age of Grotesk so I’m waiting to see if he can reinvent himself or if his career died after Holywood. Should be interesting…
As for Jesu…I dunno guys, do you really like this shit? Am I the only one who was into Godflesh, Techno Animal etc. and absolutely hates Broadrick’s new style? So fucking boring and repetitive…a few chords with a delay pedal and some reverb sounding over and over and over while Broadrick murmurs some shit with even more delay on his voice…

Maybe I need to give it another listen…I remember liking a few tracks, but hating the majority so I suppose it could be a grower.
I do like Jesu alot. his new album will have a different sound to it, from what I understand. i’d stlill say Final is my favorite broadrick side project, and Techno Animal’s “Re-Entry” is also in my top 3 or 5 albums of all time

When the fuck did Peligro say new Manson was coming out? I wanna read that post! Id like to hear new Manson out of morbid curiosity. I think everything after Antichrist Superstar sucked (yes, including a lot of Mechanical Animals) but there are always at least 3 good songs on the albums that followed and Antichrist Superstar is just a hard album to follow up from since it was so badass. I didnt like John 5 at all in Manson (I think his solo albums are fucking awesome though), so I think that was cool him being not there anymore. They should bring back Zim-Zum! He was always my favorite, even though he didnt get to do much with the band. I heard he was branching out into acting more and more and was/is supposed to be The Queen Of Hearts in a remake of Alice In Wonderland. Manson is a cool dude and I love his artwork and he was awesome as Edgar in the Area 51 game, Ill probably check out his new album.

Orbasm, you really don’t like anything after Antichrist Superstar? It’s funny I think Antichrist Superstar is a great industrial metal album, taking Ministry and Nine Inch Nails’ sound and then adding that gothic element that Marilyn Manson always brings to the table, but it wasn’t the band’s best work IMO. I thought tracks like “Mister Superstar”, “Man that you Fear” and “Deformography” were weak.
I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that Mechanical Animals is Marilyn Manson’s best album. It is just fucking incredible. A real industrial glam rock masterpiece and this is where I feel Manson will and should be remembered; as a drugged out androgynous alien freak show.
Also Holywood was brilliant, if a bit hard to get into at first given the 19 tracks. There is a lot to sort through with Holywood, but given time I realized that at least 80% of the album is worthwhile. It’s kind of a nice combination of the industrial metal presented in Antichrist Superstar and the polished glam rock of Mechanical Animals.

I actually like the ‘Heart Ache’ EP a lot more than the album…
And I think I’m a bigger Godflesh fan than a Jesu fan. But let’s see how this band will evolve in the future…
Godflesh were such a dead donkey though. The band were going nowhere and they started to sound like Helmet (ugh!). Stylistically there was nowhere for the band to move on to. What were they going to do next? R’n’B ? No, probably just churn out album after album of stale, angsty riffs and childish ‘life sux’ styled lyrics. They had become b.o.r.i.n.g.
And then there’s ‘Us And Them’. ‘Us And Them’ was just plain atrocious. A half-baked foray into drum and bass with slapdash vocals seemingly tacked on at the last minute. I know that lyrics had never been his strong point (hell, just check out ‘Selfless’) however, I really believe that the vocals/lyrics on that album were close to being the worst I have ever heard from an established act! As if at the last minute, he’d realised he’d forgotten the vocals and spent an hour or so in the studio shouting over recorded beats and samples. Then realeased the damned thing without even mixing it. Quite frankly, ‘Us And Them’ is the St Anger of industrial albums. He should’ve called in quits right then and there - and not wait another four years.
Jesu is the obvious progression from Godflesh. Way more complex and textured without the childish rants. It is closer to math-rock, like Slint on steroids or something. I am definitely looking forward to this new ep.
What is this Prussian Blue thing? Some kind of joke or really actually two teenage girls singing about fascist stuff? I’m really curious since I’ve noticed people talking about it but I never got any more information…
