Al should do something with ween. is he a fan? if nothing else he should do a remix for them.

Strongly agree. They are great songwriters, even if their past material was meant to be juvenile or at least hard to swallow… WHITE PEPPER is such a great album, and their latest… wow.
I know Ween also knows the people Al knows, Mike Patton in particular. Could be interesting…

sounds like steely dan. and yes I’m a fan of SD.

don’t forget that they are both on sanctuary (well at least ween’s last album was). i’m not a huge ween fan but must say that i saw them do a free warmup show in college (maybe around 97) and it was one of the best concerts i’ve ever been at in terms of the amount of “fun” i had. they were just on stage getting wasted off jack, played for 3 hours, and took requests for at least half that time. at one point the drum set fell apart in the middle of a song. it was quite entertaining to say the least. then my friend told someone in their crew that he was friends with some random name he read off their liner notes (which amazingly worked), and they let him backstage where he proceeded to drink as much of their beer as he could.

wow - total Steely dan!
side note: i started this thread after many beers sunday and watching their (ween’s) latest DVD (which is awesome btw).
ween + al… hmmm
well I know al definately has a connection to the ween guys…
william tucker was great friends with all the ween guys and often did PA work and other assorted things with them…
ween even had a post on their website remembering william when he passed away…
william was probably one of the most bad ass guitarists ever to be featured in ministry…
so there’s your ween + al connection…
Also during this time Tucker hosted the “Uncle Williams Holiday Death Camp” radio program on WTSR at Trenton State (85-86) and gave guitar lessons, most notably to Mickey Melchiondio (aka Dean Ween of Ween). In an interview, Aaron Freeman (aka Gene Ween) declared that Tucker taught Mickey “everything he knew about the guitar, as bad as it could sound and as good as it could sound.”
I just saw that on here:
