We Rose From Your Bed With The Sun In Our Head

I’ll probably go for option #3. but if I had the money, I’d go with option #7 and get a new theme song for Paradoxal Pterodactyl out of it…

sold out.

Tried to get it yesterday and their online store was acting the bollocks (probably too much pressure). Internet wasn’t working last night and checked it this morning to see it was sold out.

Fuck.

Going to see Gira in April so hoping there might be some chance of getting something then

When I saw Swans last year their merch table was full of CDs that were sold out on the website.

Yeah, I remember the merch table being small enough but cool.

I believe Gira will be playing acoustic (or altered) versions of new Swans material on his solo tour.

The packages they advertised for the live album looked cool, though. I wasn’t going to pay for it but to be listed as an Executive Producer on the new album would have been nice.

What are the dates for this solo tour?

well, shit.

Guy so rarely plays Atlanta and he used to live here…

Also, interesting that Woven Hand is the opening act. I can see how Gira would like them musically, but David Eugene Edwards is an evangelical Christian. I have to wonder how they get along backstage.

Did anyone get this? If so please report

I believe that show actually has Gira opening. Edwards opened solo for the Swans for a couple shows on their last tour so they must have gotten along fine. Looks like he’s just returning the favor in his hometown.

I was lucky and was able to see WH a week before the Swans in 2010. Edwards did a Q&A after the show and he seemed really down to earth. Not preachy at all. He didn’t come off as pushing church or organized religion or anything, just to love god in your own way etc etc.

Woven Hand / 16 Horsepower have made some of my all time favorite songs. And i recommend them to anyone. Just block out the lyrical content and you’ll be fine.

Or if you can’t get past the lyrics just listen to any of their Joy Division or New Order covers.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Woven Hand. I’ve seen them myself and it’s an intense show. But he’s definitely a holy roller. Part of the reason 16 Horsepower broke up is that the other guys were sick of hearing about Jesus all the time.
