we believe 2003

I know a lot of you have heard the live version of “we believe” from 2003. I’ve searched vainly all over the net for it without any luck! But what exactly does it sound like?

sadly, the recording of 2003 live version is crappy. the song sounds just like 1988 land of rape and honey tour version (1988 live one had live monotonous little cool looped bassline) with added guitar powerchords.

the best part of it is when al says “it’s called we believe! oooold schooool”. then drums and synths kick in, and someone in the audience shouts “hooly shit, dude!”.

I think I must have a different version than you. On the one I have he says, “This one’s from Twitch.” The new bass makes the song, but the overall quality is pretty bad, and I think the vocals could be better. I wish they had redone it for Rantology.

maybe it’s the flu getting to my head… but… wasn’t it some pizzant that wanted Ministry to play that song… and Al did…
Doesn’t Al say something like
“… this is for an old … pissant called …”
bla bla bla…
And in my sick and confused head… that
“holy shit dude” is that perticular pissant (pizzarmy member)… and some seconds later in to the recording you hear someone say to him
“hey, how you doin?” <-- sounds Like Al to me…

He did it for Rodent, supposedly. That was his name. He posts on Litany, still.

The rest of that isn’t accurate, because there’s really only two decent recordings of “We Believe” - the Houston/Numbers one, and the Chicago/Vic Theater version. Rodent lives in AZ so it isn’t him. I don’t know who the gent is/was.

The Chicago one is vastly superior, and I would be willing to put it on Prongs if bisquitodoom would like to. Actually he doesn’t have the show, you just reminded me… I’ll see what I can do.

The AZ version was great…too bad there’s no recording of it. The ‘holy shit dude’ version is from the Houston show - I have that audience mp3. Would love to hear a better version, if someone has it. It definitely sounded great live in '03. Fuck, hadn’t heard it live since '88…and now I consider myself lucky to have seen that tour (Pailhead, 2 Twitch tracks, and RevCo’s No Devotion…how sweet is that)…

ah yes, i have the version that was played in houston. if anyone has any other versions of this track, please hook us all up!

Boy, I’d love to hear all of the above mentioned We Believe(s) from 2003. I’ve heard the flahsback with Ogre version, but the drums sound… well you can’t hear them, in my opinion. Hoping to hear the 2003 version soon!

Ask and you shall receive. See the download page for the Houston 03 version and a soundboard version for the Twitch tour that’s never been in circulation.

Awesome! Thanks Bisquit. Is the 1986 version from the same Toronto FM broadcast?

Wow! Thanks bisquitodoom!!! I love these versions of We Believe!

FUCKIN’ GREAT!!!

yes, more twitch/lorah era stuff!!

The 1986 one is such great quality. Thanks so much.

Awesome! Thanks Bisquit. Is the 1986 version from the same Toronto FM broadcast?

Yep. One of the tracks that’s not on the version in circulation. It’s from a pre-broadcast source, so it’s crystal-clear.

i think i’m gonna cry…[:(][:(]

Any other tracks ont put out for the official radio broadcast? Two so far with We believe and My Possesion. BTW can anyone help me out by emailing me the I See Red - take 2 - version of the song. Never took the chance of downloading it so i´m stuck with the bleed-through version of it on an old cassette. I´d be very thankfull!

get on soulseek and you will find lots more!

Whoa, way to make my weekend better! This was an unexpected surprise, Bisquit! Thanks a ton!

I’d love to see any of the other pre-broadcast songs posted if at all possible. The sound quality on the '86 one is SUPERB.

The AZ version was great…too bad there’s no recording of it.

Speaking of Rodent, I believe both AZ shows were video/audiotaped by/for him at the time, so they are not circulated… he told me this in passing, I need to hit him up for those.

Thanks for the reminder, as now I am curious of the quality.
