Indeed, somehow i suspected there would be a drug overdose involved. Maybe he had to take drugs to make it through making such shit music. Still, even Wayne Static doesn’t deserve to die for crimes against music. [:(]

Always think of the Slim Jim guy when I saw Wayne Static…didn’t like anything I ever heard from his band…they were definitely on Ministry’s jock…sad news,nonetheless…drugs take another one…

really dug these guys’ first 2 records, and saw them a ton back in the early to mid 2000s. Put on a great show. Then their music got…less good.

Yes, this sucks, I was never a big fan, but they had some cool moments. I met him once in New York and this was like 2007 and he kept mentioning how bad the music business was and how he regretted not finishing school or something similar. I guess the reality of being a rich rock star isnt what its cracked up to be these days, stay in school kiddies.

Agreed. It all went downhill once Shadow Zone came out, although Cannibal was ok.

And for those of you mentioning the Slim Jim guy, I see no resemblance whatsoever between Wayne Static and Macho Man Randy Savage.

I actually met Wayne at the old Cocodrie Club in SF back in late 1998 when he was still a nobody. This was when Static X just started out and haven’t even put out their first album yet,they opened up for my friend’s band.

He was really nice when I met him (and I wouldn’t doubt I smoked some drugs with him that night lol but the memories a bit fuzzy)and Wayne even had his trademark hair even then. But honestly I never really was into his music.

When he first dropped, a bunch of supposed inside people started shouting DRUGS (as well as blaming his pornstar old lady for driving him to it). Then the same or next day it was said that it was NOT DRUGS.

So, yeah . . . drugs.

Saw them at the Vanderbilt in Deer Park, Long Island…it was awesome…the album after Machine was the tour but they played the 1st 2 LPs mostly (Wisconsin Death Trip, Machine).

Solid performance but Wayne scolded fans for doing metal-horns with their hands and insisted we pound our fists instead…guess he felt the metal-horn hand gesture was played out…I can relate to that.

Those first two records are immaculate but I lost interest soon after…I hope Wayne R.I.P. & his former pornstar wife Tera Wray doesn’t disgrace him by going back into da skin-flick game~ [:/][:(]
