As some of you know, in addition to helping out with this site, I’m also helping with waxtrax-not-subpop, a site dedicated to the old Wax Trax label/store. I finally got the forum up and running, and while it still needs some tweaking, you’re all welcome to check it out, post, and contribute. I’ve made several other updates to the site lately and should continue to have more content uploaded on a regular basis, so all are encouraged to keep checking back.
Thanks, man. Great work on the site so far. I’ll definitely register on the forum.
1002
cool.
i’ll be there.
I’ve lurked here for a while but have always resisted the urge to post until now…Great idea for a site…I will be sending barker a link to the blackouts photos. I’m sure he, rowland, erik and bill will be amused…or horrified…
Do you know where those pics were taken? That’d be interesting to know…
Anyway…inspired by your site I’m listening to Clock DVA for the first time in a long time…and am heading to the basement to find the fini tribe vinyl and TTable
And horse rotovator is down there somewhere too…it’s going to be a long…loud evening…
Yeah, I thougt it might be a good trip down memory lane for a few people. I got a big kick out of thos pics too, as the band was so young. Anyway, the one with the whole band is from the 1983 show at Baby O’s in Seattle (not sure of the exact date) and the others are from the 8/27/82 “farewell” show at the Golden Crown.

Buried Dreams desperately needs a re-release. They could add all the b-sides and remixes as bonus tracks.
Righteous.
To reiterate what Bisquit said, please visit the site when you can, and let us know what you think. The lack of a proper Wax Trax! archive site was vexing me for a long while; there is only a modicum of information available from various sites online (much of it lacking primary sources or undocumented altogether). My objective in starting the site was to fill in the many yawning gaps in the label’s history, using as much firsthand information as possible. Thanks in no small part to Bisquit’s commitment, things have really gelled in the past year.
I really hope the site proves to be useful for both novices and old fans. In the long term, I’m hoping to scan or photograph every last piece of my collection for inclusion. More importantly, I’m hoping those of you with your own firsthand experiences (concert memories, photos of t-shirts and other memorabilia, etc.) will contribute. If you send us something that we haven’t already posted, it will go up.
And to whoever said that “Buried Dreams” is desperately in need of remastering, I could not agree more. In fact, there are quite a few Wax Trax! classics that should be revisited. Does it not seem outrageous that Front 242’s Wax Trax! albums - Geography notwithstanding - haven’t been remastered and expanded at this point?
Yes.
Yes it does.
