Very sad news, thanks for passing that along. My condolences to CC and anyone else who knew/worked with Dannie.

Sucks. The founding fathers are now gone.

“dannie was the guy who at wax trax could fix things.
your stupid head or your backpack zipper. rip, my great friend. shit.”
That sucks.
Even though we all knew the era was over long ago, it seems really final now.
Damn. My condolences, everyone.
[:(]
Always sucks to have a friend die.
sad.
The world is really gonna miss that guy. I haven’t seen him in many years. I had hoped to see him at a Ministry gig at the Vic a couple of years ago but I guess he didn’t show up. Even Cate, my wife, who had only met Dannie a few times back in the day was excited to see him and was disappointed when it didn’t happen. He was that kind of person. Everyone who met him loved him.
I remember stopping in Wax Trax one afternoon when I was a poor starving musician and he took me across the street and bought me lunch at his insistence (he knew I was broke)…then gave me $50 when we got up from the table.
The guy was a saint. Hope he’s back with Jim now.
This is really sad news [:(] Without the efforts of Danny and Jim our musical experiences during the 80’s-90’s would not have been as wonderful. I too hope Jim and he are together again somewhere.
RIP
Great story, wempathy.
Sounds like he was a real stand-up guy.
Hopefully Chris C. will show up here too. I’d like to hear his thoughts.
EDIT: Lots of Connelly quotes in the link below. Still, it’s always nice when he stops by.

Very disappointed by Mike Nash’s comments. Couldn’t believe my eyes when I read it before work this morning while having my tea.
“Editor’s note: Mike Nash has requested that his comments originally posted in this space be removed”
What did he say?
Something homophobic?

Interesting. No, nothing homophobic. Mike Nash painted Dannie as an illiterate rube who was merely Jim’s go-fer. There were some other rude comments that don’t need to be repeated as they were regarding family. I didn’t know Mike well, he did work at Wax Trax at one time, so I can’t imagine why he would say these things. Especially now.
That is very saddening. I would have liked to shake his hand and just thank him for helping bring all this great music to my ears that’s shaped my listening habits and in many ways my life. The end of an era.
It would be great to see some WT luminaries come together for a memorial concert.
Just read the article 1002 posted. God damn, never met the man, but he will be missed. I have Jim and Dannie to thank for pretty much half my record collection.
Wonder if we will get an Easter song in tribute to him from AJ.
But in all seriousness, RIP. As others have mentioned, hope they are together again somewhere, I played the shit out of my black box comp when I got it. Too young to really see what an impact they made but from what I can tell they had a very large part in bringing this type of music to the “mainstream”.
The Black Box was an amazing primer for those just discovering industrial in the mid-90s (too bad Front 242 wasn’t allowed to be on it).
Did anyone have the deluxe edition with the cassette tape that you had to assemble yourself?
