Wax Trax! Records Retrospectacle: 33 1/3 Year Anniversary

Yes, you will notice in the credits on Twitch Al thanks the Revolting Cocks gang in Brussels.

Also as Chris noted in his book Al did a fine job with the songs Richard sang when it came time to play them live. The ultimate for me though is You Often Forget with both Chris and Al.

My wife, who is a film professor at DePaul university, will be filming with a proffessional crew, so, wera your nicest clothes and put on your fanciest makeup, I promise I will NOT spoil your outfits…

Sweet news! Well, except for the not spoiling clothes part. Though I have a feeling it’ll get crazier than all that.

Hey Chris, will she only be filming the RevCo performance or the whole thing?

[reply]Due to a combination of being fuckin’ broke, my ma coming back here on the 14th, and the best weekend of my life being SOLD OUT OH MY GAWD, I’m not gonna be able to make it. Party hard for me, Prongers.

(1002, I humbly request pictures.)

[cool]

YOU IDIOT.

YOU COMPLETE FUCKING IDIOT:

HERE’S AN IDEA:

Ask someone for money. Repay them.

Tell mum ‘look, I love you, and it’d be great to see you again, but I wanna go watch the Revolting Cocks. You can come if you want, but I understand if you can’t make it’; make HER feel bad for not coming with you and pandering to your needs!

And if it’s sold out, give Afra a blowjob if he lets you![/reply]

Meh, it sucks, but it’s aight. Haven’t seen my Ma since the Gramps died, and she’s considering moving to Lake Havasu, which would be kick-ass. That, and I just found out that practically half my family’s gonna be in town that same weekend, along with a friend from back East. Jesus. Life got crazy QUICK.

Besides. I don’t think Afra would appreciate.

@1002: Great success!

good news about the filming…since I won’t be there. Thanks Chris!

Since all this talk about the cocks, Here’s a couple of tunes from 08/09/1990

Hey Chris (or anyone else in the know)…

What’s up with our buddy Bill Reiflin? I know he had a falling out with Ministry but aren’t the two of you still cool? Is he too busy with REM to drop by his old stomping grounds?

I was really hoping he’d be there, I’ve always wanted to see him drum in person.

A 3rd night has been added to Wax Trax weekend, tickets go on sale this Saturday at noon. Here’s the announcement:

But here is were things get fun…Tickets for the show will go on sale to the public this Saturday, 3/12 @ noon
BUT…We have set aside a limited number of Sunday tickets and will be sending out a private link and password this THURSDAY to all our subscribers, giving you the opportunity to buy BEFORE they are publicly available.
This is limited, and when the private stash is gone, you all will have to fight the public on Saturday for the remaining tickets.
We hope that will help out a bit for being so patient & understanding.
Thank you all for bringing so much positive and wonderful energy to this weekend-We can’t wait to see everyone!!”

Goddammit! RevCo and KMFDM on the same night! I guess this means they’re doing 2 shows that weekend?

I hope I can get a ticket for Sunday.

I was also wondering if Bill Rieflin [straight ass motherfucking hoe] was going to be a surprise guest.

Then it wouldn’t be a surprise

Now I’m starting to wonder if Bill will be joining after reading this. Peter Buck of REM on being reluctant to tour

“We’ll just see what happens. But it does seem like we’ve toured a lot in the last eight or ten years. To some degree it felt like we’d just been doing kind of the same thing we did last time. You just don’t really want to repeat yourself in that way. In this era in which albums don’t tend to sell well regardless, the lack of touring isn’t a concern. I’m not really sure that touring sells records. What sells records anymore? It seems like less and less people are buying albums, so do what you want.”

It’d be a nice surprise considering he hasnt been officially mentioned like Mark Durante and Duane Buford.

I got my Sunday ticket!!

I I got my Sunday ticket!!

Lucky bastard

I was also wondering if Bill Rieflin [straight ass motherfucking hoe] was going to be a surprise guest.

Rieflin is still friendly with Sasha. Not sure if ‘camps’ are/have formed, but if they have it might cause his appearance to be unfortunately doubtful.

Count me in for night #3, just scored a pair in the pre-sale. Looking forward to an epic weekend of hearing loss.

Chris mentioned the ouija board incarnation of Timothy Leary… and while I do believe it was just a joke, it would be cool if Gila Copter was performed.

Anyone want to place bets on what version of physical would be performed??

anyone want to sell their Friday and Saturday tickets to me =)

Sorry to double post, but for those like myself who were unable to get tickets to the first two nights of the fest, the fundraiser this weekend on the 26th will be selling raffle tickets for passes, $5 each or 5 for $20.

http://cherryberry321.wordpress.com/fundraiser/

Out of towners can send an e-mail to Julia [julia@waxtraxchicago.com] to make a long distance raffle ticket purchase via paypal. All proceeds for the Center on Halsted which is better than funding a scalper.

The one in Denver was actually started by Jim and Danny in the late 70s, but they sold it and started the other one in Chicago around 1979 or 1980.

And Wax Trax Chicago closed years ago. Anybody know when?
