Wax Trax! Records Retrospectacle: 33 1/3 Year Anniversary

Looks like his post is gone now.

Yeah, I ditched it. Don’t do that too often, but the pointless derailing flled with slurs gets on my nerve too. Back to the discussion at hand…

I’d love to get a ticket, so if anyone has any leads on when they might sell more it would be greatly appreciated!

I don’t know where Chem’s at with the prongs comp, but it would be pretty cool if it got finished concurrently with this festival…

Updated.

A Juan Atkins Wax Trax DJ set to finish the night off would be pretty awesome…

Would be real nice if a recording came out of this that would be made available at the same price as admission (extra donation money) for those that can’t make it.

Hopefully I’ll be added to the list. Depends on if I’ll have the money and how much air fare will cost

is this new info about the “FIX” screening?

Ministry members Paul Barker, Chris Connelly, and Martin Atkins will be present for Q&A.

I knew about Paul, but Connelly and Atkins are news to me.

People keep mentioning this and while it would be nice to have a DVD of this event I just don’t see how it could happen logistically…

I mean we have several different bands, each now on different labels and two “bands” (the individuals playing the KMFDM and Revolting Cocks material) that are playing music performed under band names that they probably don’t own and songs that they have only partial rights to or no rights at all. Getting all the individual rights holders and record labels together agree to terms would be a nightmare.

Plus it would cost a lot of money to hire videographers and sound engineers to throw this together, all for a DVD who’s audience is in reality very specialized and limited and probably wouldn’t make much money.

Sorry, I think a DVD or even an official CD would be cool myself but I just don’t see any way it could happen… Perhaps a fan will record the show (if cameras are allowed) or at the very least someone will have some cell footage of the event up on youtube. Maybe someone could get some decent MP3’s out of this who knows…

I don’t care if it’s ‘official’ but yes a nice boot of the ex-RevCo set (the ex-KMFDM would be fine too, but less priority personally) would be great.

I won’t hold my breath, as the logistics of a ‘release’ would likely be terrible yes.

Cripes, somebody just bootleg the damn thing.

I’m thinking about picking up a FLIP camera for the show… I’m just curious how the Metro handles cameras, etc…

Just shove it behind your your junk. I’ve smuggled all kinds of stuff into venues. Security guard is a crappy enough job. I’ve NEVER had one grab my goods.

Can’t be sure if it’s being documented by a crew, but if it is, the odds of not being able to use a Flip go way up I would guess.

They run a pretty tight ship there and ‘recording devices’ are not allowed…but of course, that doesn’t seem to stop anyone.

If anyone has a spare ticket, I’ll buy it at a decent price.

It would be nice if some former H-Gunners filmed this…

The show on April 15th will mark the one year anniversary of Porkspam’s death. For those going to Chicago be sure to toast our lost comrade, and I will be spinning more than a few Wax Trax albums that weekend.

We’ll try to have the comp up and going by then too, it just seems fitting.

DON’T LISTEN TO HIM GUYS.
YOU COULD GET CAUGHT AND EJECTED BY SECURITY.
AND THEN, YOU WOULD MISS THE SHOW.

In all seriousness,
I envy all of you. Nice idea ChemMeat… really wish I was in Chicago!!!

Sort of perversely awesome how Al has been completely excluded from the Revco thing. I think the best part is much like the Rev-faux that Al was peddling, this line up contains no original members either, technically [laugh]
