Maybe I missed something following the history of Wax Trax, but I’ve seen this shirt pop up on eBay and a couple of other sites for sale. What’s the NY connection, if there even is one?

Post TVT buyout?
I guess that would technically make Wax Trax a Chicago/New York entity.
Did they have a store there?
I never hear or saw anything in NY about trax.
This t-shirt (very likely new and unauthorized) is based on a logo/sticker design that TVT did sometime in the mid-to-late-1990s. Aside from its post-bankruptcy operations being run by TVT Records, Wax Trax! never had an independent New York office.
In case any of you trainspotters are curious, the rarest Wax Trax! logo t-shirts say “Chicago - London” on them, as these cover the period from 1986 until 1989, when Wax Trax! operated a London office in conjunction with Southern Records. Hence the reason why many releases (Twitch, Big Sexy Land, etc.) were recorded in part at Southern Studios.
