was everybody fired or what??

How come it seems none of the members survived from WS to twitch?? were they all “hired guns” for WS? has this always been Al’s thing?.. I’ve always been under the impression that ministry started out as a band and not just Al…

Pretty much.

Dunno, man. Could you honestly see Shay Jones singing on “Twitch”?

While I’d love to hear that, I think that those two records are universes apart.

Couple that with Al’s then-possibly-blooming “fuck you, this is my band” syndrome, and there you go.

The only member that I know of from that period who was ‘dismissed’ was JD.

Everyone else generally left because they were treated unfairly or just flat out not paid. Most members just had a handshake agreement so ‘fired’ probably isn’t the right word.

I had a good deal during the WS tour. But when the tour was over that dried up. I left during post WS tour recording sessions because I didn’t agree with the way the sessions were being budgeted.

I quit twice and in spite of that was still asked to come back but declined.

but did you guys get together and decide to call yourselves ministry or did Al already have this stuff going and you guys climbed aboard?

I had always wondered what happened in Stevo’s case as he was listed as the other ‘official’ member of Ministry during that time period. All Day has him playing drums on it, and I heard Al was not happy that Sire wanted it on Twitch. Now Al just says he was some drummer guy. Like Paul was just the bass player [:(]

While there’s no doubt that Al was solely responsible for the Cold Life/I’m Falling release, more or less, …it’s also true that most of the material after that but prior to the 4 songs that Al wrote during the WS sessions were written by the band during rehearsals and while on the road…as a band. So it wouldn’t appear that the term ‘climbed aboard’ applies. It was very much a group effort at the time. A prolific effort, I might add.

If you’re asking if Al would show up at rehearsal with finished songs and start instructing everyone how to play them a la Zappa or Prince because the other members were just hired hands then I’d like to put that notion to rest. It never happened that way when I was involved.

thanks for the clarity… Not trying to sound rude here, but, WHo are you exactly? or are you in Cognito like SPecial Ed?

I knew he was part of the original line up but because I never really dug on the old Ministry I never knew any of the musicians so I just just never paid attention as to his name. I guess that makes me the asshole… PEACE… RESPECT!!!

Some people here know. I’m not one of them, but I like to think it’s Ty Coon.

Who cares, really? I mean doing that shit is obnoxious, honestly!

As Much as Special Ed is one of my favorite people here, it’s kinda retarded that he would drop that he’s connected to the ministry camp and then refuse to say who he is… If you wanna stay hidden don’t yell yourself out! …and that’s all I’m sayin’…

But ed’s mystique is what makes him so tantalizing.

Also: TY COON. [:)]

Ty Coon was a crazy heroin groupie and was scary looking! I wonder where she is now! Her vocals were god awful and she partially ruined “Bad Blood” and “What About Us?” for me.

(“Whip or Chain” was ruined from the start)

Was she on any other songs? What was her deal? Al’s junkie girlfriend?

Funny… Those three happen to be some of my favorites.

[;)] man, ty coon is hot w her new blonde look. though i found it strange that someone who has been involved with ministry for so long (she was the girl al, was having sex with in the story that inspired TV 3 ) that the only ministry thing she mentioned at all is one photo of darkspoon backstage, as i call him from that time, skele-jourgensen she did’nt even mention her involvment with a.i. and for someone just starting out as an solo artist is alittle strange (though i admire the non-milking/exploiting of a relatioship she was in for career reason’s) p.s. i remember someone going on about the back-up singers/members of WS era ministry as that would never happen with current ministry sounf some of us often forget that Yovonne Gage sang on as recent a release as dark[;)]spoon

She’s very pretty with her new blonde look… actually very pretty now that I see her without tons of makeup smeared on her face… Make-up does a disservice to some women I think she is one of them

can’t believe Al hit that!

yeah i’m with yah i’m curious to hear her own music someone i know also is kat who was originally going to be the second keyboardist (along with mrs. j for the fornicatour) i think she was not used i’m guessing as jourgensen had gotten clean by that point and i’m sure she still uses so…but,i wanna get some gear talk and some answers regarding animositisomina from a key prosective and maybe some good stories from her[;)] i’m glad someone else is up at theis unchristly hour

Its hard to believe the girl in this pic (attachment) provides the vox on the Dark Side tracks and What About Us?

p.s. Most of her pics are taken by herself in a bathroom… sad.
