“Cuz I. . .have marital relations like a faithful husband and devout follower!”
Sorta true, I guess. He no longer plays “Fuck Like a Beast”. Oh well. There’s plenty of other great tracks to pull from.

The PMRC finally get their wish…
The new album is awesome.

Indeed. When I made this joke, I had no idea that [url http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/how-blackie-lawlesss-faith-affected-making-of-w-a-s-p-s-new-album-golgotha/]he’s a born again Christian now. Wow.
What is it with these old guys?[/reply]
Wow, that guy comes across as super lame in the interview.

Making the transition from “secular” music to a more faith-based approach isn’t all that difficult. You see, before I became washed in the blood of the Lamb, I was in an alternative group called Khryst Denier and the Commandment Breakers, which enjoyed some local success and controversy. We had songs like “I Only Commit Adultery With You Because I Know It Dishonors My Mother And Father,” and “There Are So Many Other Gods To ‘Take Before You,’ Sometimes It Takes Me All Day To Choose Between Ba’al And Odin.”
See, when asked to explain the 180 degree turn in subject matter, I simply told the press that it was a ‘David Bowie’ kind of thing, you know where he occasionally immerses himself in a stage character and adopts certain mannerisms that he later drops.
So this day we still proudly play the old classics like “How To Go Against Every Law In ‘The Book Of Leviticus’ In 24 Hours,” knowing that we’re providing a powerful ministry to the youth and showing them the roads not to take.
Yeah,I remember when "There are so Many Gods to Take Before You’ briefly cracked the top 40…big moment…

We were going for kind of a Meat Loaf “Bat Out of Hell II” kind of thing at the time. It did reap benefits for a while.

So much so that I remember seeing Jim Steinman in the background of an old promo photo…

Yeah that was just some guy we saw hanging outside the studio during recording sessions, and invited to be in our promo shots due to the uncanny resemblance. I think we paid him a couple of bean burritos for his services.
The new album is awesome.
Any songs worth mentioning?
The opening track “Scream” is really good.
The whole album is great. Except track #2 pisses me off. It sounds to me like Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi impregnated each other and their bastard kid wrote an 80’s hit to be the theme song for an unreleased Rocky movie. It just . . . . I don’t know. It sounds like something that was written with a pop confidence and just makes my butthole hurt. That’s the only track I skip on the album, and I skip it with extreme prejudice.
Been waiting 10 years, but goddamn, it’s finally gonna happen.
W.A.S.P. are touring U.S.A. this year.
I bought tickets for Anaheim and San Francisco, which are also the first and last gigs of the tour. And Blackie hinted recently that he’s leaning toward adding “Fuck Like A Beast” back into the setlist too. Regardless what they play, I’m stoked. I know a lot of people only talk about their 80’s stuff, but the entire catalog is solid and I’m beyond excited to finally see this band live.
I saw this…is it Armored Saint opening up? And another band too I believe…a shame Chris Holmes won’t be there but hey what are ya gonna do…I saw WASP on the Headless Children tour and they were great…haven’t seen them since…
Yup! They’re great too!
I’d love classic lineup too, but yeah, it is what it is. Hopefully one day those guys will make peace. I fucking love Chris Holmes. Check out the documentary (free if you have Amazon Prime) “Mean Man” if you get the chance. Came out about a year ago. Really lovely doc on him.
I was just talking about 'Mean Man ’ with a guy at a local bar who I talk metal with…he is a massive WASP fan …I’ve been aware of the doc and saw the trailer and it has been in the queue… I’ll check it out soon…doesn’t he live somewhere in Europe now?
Yeah! He’s lived in France for about 10 years now, I think. It’s really cool watching footage of him. The French have a reputation here of being snobby uptight pricks, but it’s so lovely to see big lovable dirtbag Chris completely himself and the French people (he lives in some small coastal village) just really laid back and cool with him. He’s such a humble yet uncompromising guy and I love seeing him happy wherever he is.
Huge WASP fan here. The Crimson Idol is inside my Top 10 of all time. I enjoy most of their albums. Not all are great but some diamonds in the rough, sure. Even KFD, with its misguided and half asses industrial overtones was nowhere near as bad as fans say it is.
That reminds me. I have to hunt down a new copy of KFD as I left mine at someone’s house years ago and it was stolen.
Crimson Idol is total balls…maybe their best…
Fucking masterpiece.
