Voodoo Fest (New Orleans)

Is anyone going to New Orleans for Halloween? Voodoo Fest is going on then…

I’m going for 5 days around Halloween, in the French Quarter. Was wondering if anyone else was going. I could care less about the festival, but I’ve always wanted to check out the city…

Don’t forget your bullet proof vest. This isn’t just in reference to the state of the city as of the last month and a half. New Orleans has been the Murder City Capital of the U.S. for quite some time.

You’d be safer going egging in the mean streets of Gary, Indiana at 2 A.M.

I’ll skip on Gary - hehe… Whether the violence is there or not.

No within the French Quarter it should be okay. It’s straying out I guess.

That and Seattle I want to check out and I’ll be content. Seattle/Vancouver I’m shooting for this winter…

I went there for Halloween way back in '97 or '98. It was ALMOST as wild as Mardis Gras, but not quite.
I’m not sure what a post-hurricane New Orleans Halloween will be like, though.

Well the city is already getting a lot of tourists in and hotels are being booked up again so this is good. Quite a turnaround if you think about it. Astounding. Maybe because people know it may be one of the last times the city will stand upright like that?

We’re renting a condo in the heart of the French Quarter and figured I would check it out other than on Mardi Gras… I do hear Halloween is a very good time there, so I’m glad you confirmed it…

Don’t visit Seattle in the winter, Afra. I mean the weather is great compared to Chicago’s winter, but it’s just plain grey and depressing here. It will be so grey you can’t even see the mountains or anything. Best time to visit Seattle would be late spring through early fall. Let me know if you need any suggestions for your trip.
