Wow!! A ‘work in progress’!!! Makes it kinda sound like an epic of ‘War And Peace’ sized proportions. A WORK IN PROGRESS!! Gee, an album of paint-by-the-numbers covers, many of which already released…the mind boggles at the level of ingenuity involved here.
I’ve got a few more surprises up my sleeve for this one.
Do go on! Lemme guess…will some of them sound like (insert appropriate cover song here) “on speed”?? Will they sound like the original only ‘heavier and faster’?? Please tell. Wow!! Do your musical and creative abilities have ANY boundaries?? This album of (mostly) 60’s/70’s ‘classics’ should put right up there with the likes of…say…Def Leppard who also have a covers album of (mostly) 60’s and 70’s ‘classics’. The Beatles, The Stones, Deep Purple…you’ve really stepped ‘outside the square’ and dug deep into the musical spectrum for this one. Not a cliche in sight.

between the last 3 generic albums of rehash/remix albums, and now a cover album, it’s no surprise he’s ending after this cover album. he has NO original ideas anymore.
One would assume he’s run out of any sign of originality since 2003. All this seems to be is a cover-album version of rantalogy.

you know what, when al and paul & co. did neil young’s bridge school benefit, i seem to recall that when everyone arrived for the soundcheck? don’t remember if they were even allowed a proper one, it was mikey’s idea going back to the hotel to cover lay lady lay, and eddie vetter was totally into getting involved with it.
have a cool picture of him standing next to paul, holding up the lyrics. wow. haven’t thought about that in a while.
