Venting a little

Although, I don’t know why. It’s not gonna make me feel any better!

So, I’m sure some of you remember how 1 1/2 years ago I got bullied into resigning at my teaching job 'cause the new principle decided he was gonna show how tough he was and just flex muscle for the sake of flexing muscle. (Come to find out there’s more to it than that)

Well, I was pretty much their only English teacher that brought the scores that they needed in order to keep their sorry asses from being taken over by the state…

So, yeah, the first year I’m not there the Jack ass principle started the year by bragging on the school’s billboard about how good their last years API scores were (basically state testing) - so, if I may be so vain, the English scores I gave them - the last year I was there.

So, cut to this year, the first year I’m not there to help their English scores, … well needless to say there is no Bragging on the the schools billboard. They in fact did worse on their API, and their English scores specifically suffered.

So, I’ve since learned that the district has made a policy over the last 2 years NOT to tenure anybody in order to keep their budget in the green. (WORST OF ALL, THE UNION THAT I PAID DUES TO, LET THIS HAPPEN AND CONTINUES TO LET THIS HAPPEN!) The less people they HAVE to keep, the more money they can keep their budget.

So, myself and another guy were offered up to the god of money so the District could brag to the local paper about how they haven’t had to pink slip anybody in this hard time of recession!

It really pisses me off because they threaten to non re-elect any teacher that is up for tenure (which basically black balls you from any school district anywhere) if they don’t resign.

They are fucking up education in this city because they want to appear good $ wise to the local city! I wanna fire all of these bastards at the district office.

The funny part about all of this is that you can see how misguided these bastards are because they run the story about how “financially responsible” they are because they don’t have to pink slip teachers, meanwhile the story about how the schools rank a 3/10 in the state is ignored.

The article should be on how come they are not pink slipping teachers when their scores are so fucking low!

So, anyway, Yeah fuck them! Low scores are what they get for their bullshit! sucks cause everybody loses!

The Los Angeles Times - Wednesday September 22nd 2010

A local man is in custody this evening after authorities claim he allegedly ran riot through a suburban high school, randomly firing off pellets from a paintball rifle and scrawling anti capitalist grafitti across school walls at approximately 2:15 pm this afternoon.

The man who cannot be named at this early stage was said to be upset at losing his teaching position at the high school in late 2009.

Teachers raised the alarm after students alerted them to the fact that a man, dressed in military fatigues and sporting a t shirt by industrial rock band Ministry, was seen scaling a wire fence which separates the back of the school grounds from nearby woodlands.

According to eye witness reports, the man then began sprinting through the schoolgrounds, hooting like a gorilla, ranting about the Bush administration, and firing his paintball rifle at horrified onlookers. It is said that the alleged gunman (who many claim bears a striking resemblance to heavy metal musician Dave Mustaine and has difficulty relating to experimental music) also exposed himself to several girls outside a female toilet cubicle and then stopped to chat to various students, enquiring as to what their favourite Marilyn Manson album was - but these details are yet to be substantiated.

It is claimed he was subdued by police using capsicum spray and taunts relating to the recently released album by ex Guns’n’Roses guitarist, Slash (whom the alleged gunman is said to be somewhat obsessed with) and later taken into custody without incident.

Authorities are offering counselling to any students or teachers affected by today’s disturbing events. Said one onlooker who witnessed the entire incident but did not wish to be named: How somebody wearing a Ministry t shirt can take the new Slash album so seriously is beyond my reckoning. The fact that such opinions like these can go unchecked for so long makes me uneasy about what sort of a future is unfolding for this nation. I mean…Slash? C’mon man. Really??

You might already know that, much like yourself, I’m all bark and no bite. So, that “LA times article” would never be me (although the guy in the article sounds pretty cool to me! -I’d give you an A for that creative writing excercise). I’m just the asshole who stands up at board meetings and tells it like it is!

I look nothing like dave mustain and I don’t hate capitalism. I hate tyranny in any form whether it’s government tyranny or corporate tyranny (unfortunately under bush we got both. On the brighter side we’re down to just corporate, kinda!)

Classic response to a grmpy thread!!

And is it just me or this forum really, really quiet these days?!?!

Classic response to a grmpy thread!!
certainly funny but a “classic”? I’m voting no. But the thread where peligro posted about superman and bad superman beating the shit out of each other in the junkyard and likening it to new al jourgensen and old al jourgensen that was classic!

And is it just me or this forum really, really quiet these days?!?!

Very quiet! wonder where everyone went? Maybe they all lost their computers in the divorce… oh that was a bit low, you think that was offsides?

Yeah, it’s quiet.
Because SOME OF US ARE TRYING TO SLEEP!!!

And is it just me or this forum really, really quiet these days?!?!

I, for, one was not around. We were vacationing in a 150 year old cabin outside of Asheville last week. No TV. No Internet. No cellphone reception.

It was…very relaxing.

It seems like business as usual around here to me, but I’ve also been wrapped up in finishing up my band’s album, and getting one more song to ChemicalMeat. I still check in every day. All it takes is one crazy thread to get this place blowing up again.

Nice! I’m about an hour outside of Asheville. September is probably the best month out of the year to come.

My sympathies, man. Think being a teacher’s rough these days, though? Try BECOMING a teacher now. Good effin’ luck. I’ve got so many friends that have useless, or are working on useless, degrees because the system’s so ridiculous.

I’m kinda glad I’m just wasting my days at a community college painting and taking the odd general ed. course, because while it’s friggin’ pathetic, it seems to be the only way to keep busy and stay outta trouble.

Fack.

Gonna vent a bit on your thread, here…

Employment in my neck of the woods is terrible. My city has something like the largest percentage of unemployment in the nation, and that staggers me, because this is one of the fastest growing cities in the nation, as well. I’ve been trying to get a yob for quite some time now (my last legitimate job was in high school, working for the school), but it seems like the only way you’re getting one is if A) you know people, B) you’re a good-looking woman, or C) you’re not exactly “legal” in the states.

That last one has never pissed me off so much as it does right now. I’m kinda in debt to the local hospital, and I really can’t pay it off with what little financial aid and savings I have (especially after this past chaos that was summer), so I began to harass the Career Development office at the college until they did something about it. Voila. They point me toward an opening with some people I know. Yay. So I tell the collection agency that I justy gotta job and can pay it all off at the end of the month. Wrong. The position had been filled weeks before, and by someone who’s residing across the border. “Greater need” and whatnot. So not only am I minus a sure-thing job, but now Uncle Sam is PISSED. Yeesh.

We feel your pain, Your Smrfness. Gawd-dammit.

We both really like it there. Some day we’re hoping to make our visits more permanent.

Asheville, NC?

Yep.

Dude, Vegas is stagnant too and Vegas is THE fastest growing city it never stops! If Vegas is hurtin I can’t imagine how anything in Arizona could begin to compete

believe me dude i know i’ve been unemployed a few times!

Hell fuckin yeah! I think any business, ANY business should lose their business license if they’re caught hiring illegals

Emoticons accepted.

Fawk.

We’ll figure it out, homes.

Asheville is awesome even if it does have a bunch of lesbian hippies.

Rob/WS, seek out Lake Lure. You might dig it (my birthplace is 20 min out of it, I love it there):

Lesbian hippies, lots of microbreweries and dog bakeries. That’s Asheville.

We stayed near Waynesville the first few days then spent last weekend in Asheville. Next time we’ll be looking at properties and Lake Lure sure comes up on a lot of the lists we check out. But I’d rather live closer to downtown…a nice 2 bedroom townhouse/condo is fine with me. I’m tired of yardwork.

what is a dog bakery?

I assume it’s one of those places where they make ultra-fancy dog biscuits.
It’s really just a waste of money for the owner, since Fido doesn’t give a damn if his treat has carab chips in and looks like Santa Claus or if it’s just a stale bread crust rolled into a ball.

Everyone… scroll to the top of the page.

Look at how this thread started. And how it ended up.

Seriously…

that is awesome [laugh]
