Blade runner was a great soundtrack…
Yeah I saw this…Blade Runner one of my favorite films and yeah that score is so good… rip
I have a lot of Vangelis’ other work, his non-soundtrack work, on my computer. He was really great. His score to BR was critical to the film’s overall aesthetic.
So sad. Truly one of the best and brightest.
In many ways getting older really sucks as we have to watch our inspirations pass one by one.
RIP.
Listening to the BR soundtrack now.
I have Earth, The City and Albedo 0.39. All are great albums, Earth being something that has to be experienced at least once while outside under a full moon and if possible while dancing around a raging bonfire dressed in nothing but a loincloth.
For a while I was amusing myself making really dumb improvised voice-over videos. This was the first one I made for the CHARIOTS OF FIRE video where I added “lyrics” to the Vangelis song.
I have a Greatest Hits, Heaven And Hell, and Albedo 0.39. And the Blade Runner soundtrack, of course.
Sad news.
The “Chariots of Fire” main theme was a number one hit in the US almost 40 years ago to the day in May 1982. I always thought it was cool when an instrumental would break through on the radio just to change things up.
There was also that Ernest & Julio Gallo wine commercial from the mid-80s.
I put a folder together with most if not all Blade Runner Soundtrack Vangelis stuff…enjoy:
That was fucking rad.
It literally makes me wanna drink Gallo, which suddenly seems classy as fuck.
