Did you guys have a great 9/11. I sure did, i watched the live recording of the whole thing. Funny how fast the fire fighters and the city of New York for that matter responded. Almost like they knew something[:(]. Hmmm… seems Bush is trying to destroy America. From the inside
Yesterday rocked the fuckin’ house. It was definitely one of the better days of my life for reasons outside of the WTC incident (Giuliani’s a fucking riot).
My first initial is “J” as is my nickname. I have always been intrigued by aliens… As a cult phenomenon. Joined this listserv back in '95 and put the two together with Al’s moniker. It was wild to find out he posted as “AlienJ” on the pissarmy well after I adopted the username. I did it first goddamnit!!!
mine comes from a hoodie i used to wear way back in '98(round the time i started milling around here) that had some blocky BRUTE!-ish art on for destructo skate trucks made a song on mp3.com back then under the name M.E.A.T. hated the song did’nt want to use my real name so i just read my hoodie and it stuck…wanna know something sad lordpiko? when i read your name thing with pico street in LA i rembered a part in terminator wear one of the police officers is going on about club technoir and it being on pico street and i prob haven’t seen that movie in for atleast 5 years…yet i can’t remember girlfriends names sometimes weird
I already explained mine. Just got back from a surfing trip. I am tan and studly. Looks like I missed a lot of jibber jabber here. Where’s the cliffs notes. I am ready for a beer.
Mine actually has nothing to do with the recording artist Fennesz. Though I enjoy his work.
Briefly adopted the Polish spelling of my name as a tribute to a fallen comrade from that region, and was just too lazy to change it back afterwards :-p
Gunnar (it’s supposed to have umlauts on the u but I’ve never learned to make them) was stolen by me as an alias after I saw this episode of Bonanza.
There’s another episode of Bonanza where Gunnar comes riding in on his horse-drawn wagon at night and he’s got an anvil that he’s banging on with a sledge hammer while he’s driving the Hell out of that wagon. Let’s just say that it was the most badass thing that’s ever been on television.
Hence, I took the name in High School and used it for things like mail fraud as well as when I’d do bathroom stall grafitti, artwork, and social commentary.
Mine comes from the Sandman comic series by Neal Gaiman. The worlds are always referred to as “realms”. Not an exclusive term to the series, but one I always found intriguing after reading it.
“de” was the initials of my first band, but at the time, I thought “de” was also french for “of”, but turned out to be “from”.
This was the 90s and I thought it was a clever way of saying “The Realm Of Magic” with a nod towards my band.
I’ve had this since 1996 or so. I happen to like crushed ice from the refrigerator - goes well with just about anything. So, it’s a derivation of crushed ice. Most people think it has something to do with the crap tables at Vegas. Not true, but actually sounds better.
HAHA!!! I remember PM’ing this dude when I first saw his name online. I was hoping he was another hopeless gambling addict and felt a bit let down when he said it had nothing to do with shooting craps.
^
I didn’t say it was THAT episode. I said there was ANOTHER (unless it was just cut from that same episode). But I’m super frustrated trying to find it on the internet. The scene is truly amazing. I know I found it on YouTube once about a year ago, but I can’t remember if it was by itself or I had to skim through an episode to find it. I can’t for the life of me find it now and it’s driving me nuts.
I went with Eureka Pile because it’s the only song title off of Dark Side Of The Spoon that I felt would be a good username (with all due respect to supermanic).
I almost went with Lunatic/Genius, but I don’t really need an image of Paul Barker playing in the bathtub every time I come to this site.
When I was signing up for an account here, I just happened to be watching a film where some guy was yelling out, “Call an ambulance, an Am-bu-lance!!”.
So it just stuck in my head.
And as for my avatar, Black Flag’s My War album is responsible for getting me into alternative rock in the first place, so I just thought it was…appropriate.
