Could the mystery track be something from the Buck Satan Liberty Lunch gig?

i noticed you mention that Paul allowed you to film the USSA show - but i haven’t heard you say anything else about it. what happened? how’s the recording?does Paul live in Nashville now?

some very funny things al said in there. arista transposed his voice higher? wtf? what about “same old madness”? it was still made while on waxtrax…

I agree Gila. Al’s loathing of With Sympathy has always bugged me out a little bit. In his defense, he’s been trashing it in interviews since it came out, so I won’t deny that it was a bad experience and that Arista probably put their hands into the production more than they should have. And, yes, some of those songs are lame-but-kitschy/ironic-fun (Say You’re Sorry) or just total shit (What He Say). But a lot of the songs are great, and were part of the Ministry live show before Arista was involved (Revenge, Effigy, Work For Love).
So honestly, how can the whole album be an abortion?

Hmmm…Revenge, Effigy and Work For Love…all penned, more or less, in a collaborative way with the other original members prior to recording WS.

Say You’re Sorry and What He Say all written by Al in the studio during the original WS sessions with no input from the other band members.

I’m no sleuth, but I think I recognize a pattern.

FYI, wempathy: I really do always appreciate your posts.

Awesomeness. I must go check this out.

Nope. Not quite that impressive. Almost.

Yep. Filmed at the exact same spot in the same venue but with a tripod and a camera I was a little more familiar with. Still not great, but pretty decent. I’ll have a review of the show up after I have a little extra time.

Paul doesn’t live in Nashville, but he commutes down here to record and play shows. Their myspace has more info ( www.myspace.com/ussaband ). Check the blog and comments. Duane makes all those posts and is full of info.

Has the second show happened yet? I liked your recording of the first, they should put out a single to sell at gigs.

I love reading those With Sympathy era old interviews.

“I’m not going to be in music forever, one of the Pete Townsends - when he’s fifty, still cranking out albums.”

"I’ll be making music exclusively for me in three or four years, and if the record company want to release that, that’s fine. But I doubt they will. Not to belittle what I’m doing now, because if I didn’t believe in it I wouldn’t release it. But on the other hand, it’s a compromise which every band has to make, from Bowie on down.
