Updates - Early pics/Special Affect info

You guys may want to check around the site for updates. My schedule’s starting to free up a bit, so I’ve added several goodies I recently acquired to the site. I updated the song of the week for the first time in a while. I also added some sweet gems from the early years. Check out the page for the 5/18/82 show for a review from a 1982 fanzine complete with a muddy, almost impossible to make out picture. More spectacularly, I added an entire 14 page press kit for the Special Affect Too Much Soft Living album to the promotional materials section (all the way at the bottom of the interviews page). It contains album reviews, articles, show reviews, and some realy spectacular pictures - including my new favorite Al picture ever. See if you can guess which. Hopefully more to come.

OMG!! Page 6 [:)] Al looks like Klaus Nomi. Didn’t he still have that guitar on the '89 tour?

wow. great stuff! i hope your “favorite pic” of al is on page 6. lol. anyone else think the picture of the drummer (Harry) on that same page looks like bill rieflin?

that’s really cool. love the old stuff like this!!

That’s absolutely the one. Beats anything from the With Sympathy era by far.

Other additions - posters for 7/6/83 and 7/7/83, a flyer for the 5/29/82 show and tickets for 7/23/83 (opening for the Police at Comisky Park) and 12/20/84 (the big show at the Exit that’s out there as a video recording). So a good half dozen updates and all before 1985.

Best Al pic. EVAR.

I’m really digging this version of “Uhhh, Lay Lady Blow, I Don’t Fuckin’…” a lot. Thanks much!

hahahaha holy shit! he looks like a scary puppet clown thing.

That’s what I was thinking as well, uncanny.

Wow Pg. 6 Al is as sexy as a sandpaper handjob.

“Why so serious?”

(re: Al on pg.6) How the mighty have fallen.

Good to hear a live version of Lay Lady Lay. Always wondered why Ministry didnt play this more often.

Now HERE’S a band in desperate need of a reunion.
Also, I have the same hat as the bass player.

Well, I couldn’t even find what you are all talking about. Can anyone hook me up with a direct link?

Hmm, I do need an avatar here.

this is hilarious.
love the lipstick, al!

The gentleman on the right in the pic from 82 looks vaguely familiar.

I don’t think that the photo is from the show that is mentioned in the review. The photo is really early, probably from one of the first 5 gigs. I can tell because I’m still using the flight case to rest the Moog Source on. I only did that for the first few shows.

i may be calling francis nardiello to give some feedback here. he’s in transit currently, but see what happens.
