Update from the Killing Joke camp

[b]a few words about the next little while…

Hello Gatherers, a few words about the next little while…

We will be releasing our new album in April 2012 which will be preceded by a UK tour (see below) and followed by a European tour. On the eve of those UK dates, an EP will suddenly appear on both Ltd Vinyl and Download which will contain a variety of brand new and ‘mix’ tracks.

We are also delighted to announce that after a short absence, Mike Coles will be back in the visuals chair and that the original line up remains intact. Mike has also been working on something special for the ‘Down By The River’ DVD, which we’ll share with you all soon via our official website www.killingjoke.com.

The album will come out (as did the last) on Spinefarm/Universal Records and is 100% finished and mastered… last minute arguments on track listing aside. We genuinely believe however, that this is our masterpiece and hope you will too. So, a few track names to whet your appetite;

‘Pole Shift’
‘Fema Camp’
‘In Cythera’
‘Glitch’
‘Colony Collapse’

We welcome your interpretation on what those songs might be about.

In the meantime, we’re happy to say that ‘Down By The River’, our live album recorded at Royal Festival Hall, is now upon us. Thank you to all those gatherers that pledged and helped get this record way past 200% of our target. Those that did will have the download version of the record already, and your physical issues will be winging their way to you imminently. You can still buy the record via PledgeMusic.

So long, and we leave you with a reminder of those live dates.

Killing Joke, for all their hyperbole about being this worldwide juggernaut, doesn’t seem to give a rat’s ass about their US fans. The touted mysterious illness that was given for the cancellation of last summer’s NA trekwas never even explained and tour dates continued well into the rest of the year. What the fuck guys?

Looking forward to the album, though - I thought the last one was very good if not a little too heavy on the anthemic choruses.

Great news, looking forward to this. Thanks.

Mmmmmmm [:)]

Listening to “Down by the River” right now. A very well done live album…a nice mix of old and new material. Highly recommended.

I totally agree. Why people, outside of mouth breathers like Zick, still give a damn about these pathetic has beens is beyond me.

<yawn>

Stay tuned for more lunatic, lop sided socio political hoo-haa rants, vocals that sound like a roaring bullfrog with a heavy English accent, cheesey Oasis styled arena rock choruses and recycled chug a lug post punk guitar riffs. Ad nauseum.

Oh…and don’t forget the naff sounding techno beats that went out of date back in 1995.

Aaah Killing Joke. You really just have to laugh.

The fucking knackers cancelled again. Twice in as many years.

Just because of that I’m not going to buy their new album. I’ll download it instead.

Well, at least they’re consistant.

You can always count on Killing Joke when it comes to cancelling gigs and delaying albums.

While I happen to like KJ’s mix of all that Peligro mentioned… This here ^^^ is SO TRUE.

Not bad. Not much new.

I hope that’s not the album cover.

“Has beens”??? You’re in la la land!!! This band has been killing it since the original members got back together and their live shows have been DEADLY…not that you or Peligro have seen one…which is why you’re throwing hissy fits.

Peligro was totally gay for the new KJ material and now he’s trying to backtrack??? Hahahaha…if KJ are no longer doing it for you I suggest you dig out the boring Tool albums again for an exciting aural yawn-fest.

KJ’s new album is going to rock and their live shows as usual will be blistering. North America will definately get dates for this new album…as for Australia & New Zealand I doubt it!

“Killing Joke’s new album is going to rock”?!?!?!

I think that says it all.

Folks - we have another winner here.

“Killing Joke’s new album is going to rock”?!?!?!

I think that says it all.

What do you expect it to do…Jazz???

I was going to see them in Dublin next month, but the show’s cancelled. I was pissed off, but it seems that it’s actually the wankers who were booking the show, they were told 5 months ago that KJ couldn’t play, but kept promoting it and selling tickets. My guess is they wanted to get as much money as possible into the bank and make some interest on it, the fucking twats.

I would expect it to Jaz

Did KJ confirm this?

They should have put the word out that they weren’t going to play.

I deserved that.

What did you expect them to do…Salsa???

Yeah, apparently they weren’t aware that it was still being advertised and sold;

"Dublin: People of Ireland Killing Joke wish it to be known that The upcoming show was only ever very briefly confirmed and then unconfirmed several months ago. The reason why it seems to have remained on sale when it was very clearly cancelled within the first few days of being booked are as much of a mystery to us as I’m sure it is to you lot. We are genuinely sorry not to be coming to Ireland on this tour but that will be rectified and we will come back very soon.

The people responsible for the continued sale of tickets will be beaten, sliced and thrown to dogs.

We are told (or was 5 months ago) that full and total refunds will be given.

WE WILL BE BACK "

I’d read on the metalireland forum that someone asked Youth about playing Dublin and hadn’t a clue what they were talking about. I managed to see them 2 nights in a row a coupla years ago in London so i’m not overly bothered, but i would have liked to see them again. My friends are well pissed off though.
