I heard about 3/4 clips, and in every clip Hatfield sounded like Black/post-Black lyrics and vocals. Sorry man, that’s why the shit sucks now. The band can still do a riff or two that are okay, but goddamn if his lyrics and boring ass arena rock vocals killed it for me.

First off, you can’t cover a song YOU wrote, Second, I don’t know how bad it actually is because to listen to it right now would cut into my enjoying of Silver.
Third, it can’t be as bad as Sheryl Crow’s version of it or Courtney Love’s cover of Paradise City. Fourth Slash is a cool cat So I’m sure he had his reasons for going out on stage with her, perhaps he’s a fan of hers… I’ll post again after i hear it

Slash and Fergie? Lame. Even more lame than doing a Guitar Hero commercial I would have to say. But then again I really haven’t liked anything Slash or any of the other Guns have done since the “Lies” album.
Unforgiven III?!?! (Spits out milk.) I guess they felt they didn’t butcher the original enough for Unforgiven II. They really don’t have any ideas left do they. And I actually rather enjoyed the original Unforgiven and the video, even though most of the black album sucks and it was the beginning of the end for those guys.
From what I understand Hetfield threw out his voice during the black album touring and simply cannot sing like he used to ever again. This explains why when they play their old material it still has that nu-Metallica sound. Tis too bad as he had a great, unique metal voice back in the day.

and did any of you read how they’re selling some version of the album for like $100 that’s comes in a coffin box? comes with like a shirt, a sticker, a pencil, a q-tip lars used to get the funk out of his ear that make him think that was a snare sound on st. anger, and a wrench to stick up your ass when you first give it a listen through. and didn’t the misfits do the coffin box already?
I’ve got no problem with that. It’s not like they’ve never done a huge, overpriced nutty box set release before.

The lead singer from Judas Priest could parade down the main street of my town wearing pink spandex and banging a drum adorned with a ‘homo rainbow’ symbol whilst yelling out 'GAY GAY GAY…EVRYONE BE GAY…" at the top of his lungs while a procession of semi nude Hispanic male dancers pranced around him…and the ‘new’ Metallica would still be the GAYEST thing I think I have possibly ever seen.
Yes, things really have become THAT bad.
“Unforgiven” is a pretty badass track… but a third version? Slightly unoriginal. Just a little bit. …Hell, why couldn’t they do another take of something like “Until It Sleeps”?
I know a bunch of people who are fucking raving about this album. Whatev. I’ll give it a listen.
