“With the Blackhawks in the NHL Playoffs, Jourgensen has been applying his wit and his encyclopedic knowledge of the sport, the players and the politics to his own talk radio show, “Uncle Al’s Puck Talk”, heard on WXRK-FM’s (104.9) Stone and Double T’s show every Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. Eastern and streamed at www.wxrx.com.”

Should be interesting. He’s always mentioned hockey in interviews, so good for him. The show will prolly be full of “blah blah” filler, but who knows. I might listen.

well good for him. I think there’s not going to be any disagreement in saying that Al loves to talk

Why not? It’s not a history professorship, but it’s somethin’.

Is it bad that the first thing that popped in my head upon reading the topic title was Al saying something along the lines of “Oh, what fools these mortals be?”

Well shit, if he really does have an “encyclopedic knowledge” about hockey than maybe he’d be a great host! The sports commentary world is filled with blowhards anyway! I’d take Al over Mike North or some of those other dicks out there!

I think Chris Connelly is closer to Puck. Al is more of an Oberon.

I used to live a couple of blocks from North’s sandwich shop on Milwaukee many years ago. I think it was called “Bebe’s”. He sure could make a mean Italian Beef.

Oh yeah? Never tried the mans food…don’t care for him as a sports announcer?

So Wempathy, who in your opinion has the best Beef in the city?

2-shay, good Rev.

best beef sandwiches in chicago–on the north side–used to be at grand and ogden. shitty little boothlike thing where all the mafia guys would go, while they had “the car” detailed across the street. and THAT is a true story.
don’t know if the place is still there. was there for ever.

Roma’s on North Cicero near 6 corners is great. Haven’t been there in some time but I always thought they were fantastic. Now I live well south so I go to Pop’s at 183rd & Governor’s Hwy. I like Pop’s because it’s slightly peppery and really juicy. Portillo’s makes good beef sandwiches even though it’s a local chain and not a mom & pop kinda place.

guess there’s no more puck talk with uncle al?

go wings?!
