I used to be myspace freinds with her a couple years ago she’s actually pretty cool and no longer a junkie
Ruined? Thought her “contributions” were kinda nifty. Wasn’t aware she was On Bad Blood though.
She sounds like a man but adds a nice kick to the tracks she’s on.

I called her like five years ago to do something for the site. She wasn’t the most reliable to contribute, and it seemed like everything I asked her for she would give me something we already knew.
She’s nice, though.

what about us is already a horrible song…but i don’t see how she RUINED the other two? to be honest, i can’t even tell where she’s singing. can anyone pinpoint it? the talking part in Whip and Chain?..and i guess in bad blood it’s “do you remember strain, do you remember pain, do you remember who caused all the blame”? to be honest, i thought both were al using some kind of voice synthesizer.

In Bad Blood, I figured it was all Al. In Whip and Chain, it’s pretty obvious. What About Us isn’t THAT bad…

Yes you’ve got it right in “Bad Blood”. In “Whip and Chain” it’s the bridge portion yeah it’s like a talking thing ultra distorted vox and it is panning rather quickly side to side. In “What About Us?” she does the bridge thing sounds like she’s delivering a rally speech through a megaphone.
I dunno…for me I could tell right away it was a chick doing those parts trying to sound hardcore and her voice annoys me. I know it’s dumb, because when vocals are so distorted it’s hard to tell who is who anyway, but maybe I’ve just been listening to too much Industrial Rock or using vocal distortion so much myself I hear these things very clearly lol.
I don’t see how “What About Us?” is a bad song at all aside from her angsty megaphone thing (though I suppose the “rallying speech” aspect goes with the theme of the movie and the scene that they perform in). I think “What About Us?” is actually a phenomenal song!! Takes the ‘Dark Side of the Spoon’ sound somewhere a bit more accessible…
