Twitched?

Awhile back I went up to the shops to see if there was anymore Ministry stuff worth getting ( I’m still pretty new to Ministry, and there stuff is sometimes hard to find over here, so I still haven’t got DSOTS or Animositisomina or any of the side projects) when I saw ‘Twitched’ a CD I didn’t recognise. Looking at the back it looked pretty much the same as Twitch; only with slightly different tracks or versions; and a version of Abortive too, and it had a sticker saying something to the effect of “the way Twitch was originally intended”

It looked a bit dubious so I didn’t buy it; I got Power, Curruption and Lies by New Order instead, but

What is this CD? And since I already own Twitch is it worth getting; i.e. are the tracks significantly different?

It’s a bootleg. The only song with a difference noticeable enough to make it worth having is Isle Of Man version 1. It’s really only worth it for those of us who are completists.

Do yourself a favor and pick up Animositisomina…it’s not solid greatness the whole way through, but a good half of the album is simply golden, some of the best Ministry material out there in my opinion. And “Impossible” alone renders the entire HOTM album meaningless.

DSOTS is a more acquired taste, and half of the tracks are pure shit, but it’s still worth getting if only to hear “Nursing Home”.

YES!

I just ordered Twitched used last night, I’m not sure why I haven’t gotten it sooner yet since Twitch is my 2nd or 3rd favorite Ministry album. Can’t wait to get it.

perhaps I’ll post a review (if I have the time) when I get it

I like the 7" Version of The Angel - the drums start right away, so it’s interesting hearing the first verse over the beats. V1 of Isle Of Man is pretty cool, too. Definitely for completists only, and definitely NOT the superior version of Twitch!

before this release came out, I always felt that Abortive was very Twitch sounding…I guess I was right [:P]

Glad I’m not the only one who thought that album was great. Except for a few bland songs that album is great. Never could understand why impossible was never in the live setlists. I think animositisomina has the best lyrics too.

I’m still enjoying Animositisomina. Unsung is still my favorite, but Impossible and Leper are right up there as well. I tend to skip Piss (possibly the worst-mixed Ministry track ever) and Shove (boring chorus, the verses are ok). Good stuff overall.

your 3 tracks from anim… are my favorite too, but that’s about all I can listen to on that album constantly. I think Leper and Impossible remind me of something from Land and Mind, and Unsung reminds me of something that could have been on Spoon (although Shove was recorded during Spoon sessions, right? )
and from time to time, I actually really dig Stolen. other times I just can’t stand it :frowning:

Yeah, Animositisomina really is quite a grower. My favorites have to be the title track, the afore-mentioned Leper and Impossible, and the cover of “The Light Pours Out of Me” (although the vocals are pretty odd).

yeah my animositisomina favourites are the same.

impossible, light, leper, they rule.

leper reminds heavily of cannibal song (same bassline notes).

impossible seems to drag on but in a cool way just like revco’s get down.

I’m really rather fond of Twitched, if only because I’m a completist asshole and Twitch is one of my faves. They’re totally right about it only being worth it for two tracks, though. Isle of Man v.1 and The Angel (7" mix) are great tunes, but is that worth the price of a CD? Well, not really, unless you’re just an OCD bastard like me that MUST HAVE EVERYTHING! I do have to give this particular boot credit, though, for having liner notes.
I’d say your money was better spent on New Order, though I’d pick up Dark Side of the Spoon AND Animositisomina both. Right now. Both albums have their detractors, but still really worthwhile purchases.

still waiting for my Twitched in the mail…I’m a completist too [:P] Twitch is one of my favorite albums, so I don’t mind at all.

oh, and animosi…has been owning the hell out of me lately. I’ve liked it better these days than I’ve ever have.

DSOTS will always be in my top 3 Ministry albums though. It’s the bands most personal record in my opinon, and for that reason alone I respect it alot. Not to mention, it’s just damn good.

I’m getting impatient, the cd hasn’t come yet. If it doesn’t come by tommorow, I’m e-mailing the seller. I refuse to listen to Twitch until I get Twitched [:P]

Of course I have it in DVD-A, and the 5.1 mix just gives them 4 more ways to fuck up the mix.

I’ve always been a fan of Impossible. It was like the thoughts and ideas presented in Dark Side of the Spoon more focused and sped up and perfected. If only there was a single mix without the intro.

Hmm, a single edit would be cool. I should pop that song into Premiere, and chop it up a bit.
