Trisomie 21 - new LP 'Black Label' - 4/23/09

Always good news to me when new T21 is coming out. The last album was their best since Works. If the song they released on a comp last year is any indication (“Hear Me Now”), this album should be really good.

That is one hell of a hip to waist to ratio. I’d buy this for the cover alone. [laugh]

Seconded.

Never listened to them. Might wanna give 'em a shot.

I haven’t listened to T21 since the early '90s. I really liked them back then but fell out of touch with them once I sold the bulk of my Wax Trax/PIAS vinyl collection. Personally, I’m not so much for mutant waist/hip ratios but I may pick up this album to see what the band’s been up to.

Start with Million Lights from 1987. It’s hands-down their best album. You won’t find it for sale anywhere (easily, besides eBay), so here’s a blog link to download it. Track 2, “Sunken Lives”, pretty much sums up the awesomeness of this record.

Cool. Thanks much!

The new single from Black Label is up on their MySpace, called “The Camp”, sounds good, could be a dark record (early T21/Cure), which is a good sign.

The two 2009 songs on their Myspace sound decent. Not sure about the singer though; he sounds like a junkie (mumbling, like he’s in pain). If I like these 2 songs would I like the rest of their catalogue?

Im still loving that hip/waist ratio.

He just has a really thick French accent, and mixes a lot of French words in the lyrics. I’d say check out the Million Lights link above, and if you like that album, you’d probably get into their material.

I downloaded Million Lights off the link you sent. I remember it fondly but right now it’s not quite what I want to hear. I’ll pop it back in in a month and give it another chance. I know in the right mood I’m going to dig it.
