track list

I made up a CD for my wild nephews, knowing they like metal and the like but not knowing whether they knew anything about Ministry or if they were fans.

Point being, I made the CD to introduce them to Ministry and try to present the best examples (and to fit it in the confines of one 80 minute CD)…

All of Psalm 69 EXCEPT Corrosion and Grace
Dead Guy
Brick Windows
Supermanic Soul
Step
The Land of Rape and Honey
So What

I told them to program tracks 1,4, and 5, do it again and THEN listen to the whole thing.

I’m sticking my neck out by asking this, but how did I do?

I believe at the very least it is a pretty cool track list.

Heh!

i think greatest fits is a good intro cd to ministry. or in case live cd. if they are “very metal”, rantology is the best option.

Remove Brick Windows and Step.
Add Sr. Peligro and Stigmata (live version from ICYDFLSU)

EDIT: Maybe add The Fall or Lava, if they like sludgier metal.

not even close to what I would put on there. but everyone is different.

WORD.
Leaving out the best tracks on Psalm?
No Paisely?
No Vex and Siolence?
SHAME.

I think the point was he was trying to put together a METAL themed Ministry comp. So “Paisley” would be inappropriate.

You forgot thieves! For metalheads its essential.

well, if you want to introduce metalheads to ministry, I’d go with the following (in no particular order):

Thieves
Burning Inside
Missing/Deity from ICYDFLSU
NWO
Hero (perhaps the one from sphinctour)
J1F
Psalm 69
Senor Peligro
Fear (Is Big Business)
Rio Grande Blood
Great Satan
Lies

and to spice things up a little bit, perhaps
Dead Guy
Bad Blood
Unsung
Shove

these tracks would make metalheads wet their pants, basically. they can discover the more ambitious songs from Ministry’s discography later.

Hey, metal isn’t ALWAYS treble-plagued BBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR DUD DUD DUH AAAAAAUGHHH…
Slow metal exists.

Yeah, but Paisley ain’t really slow metal. The Fall is, which is why I suggested them.
