[reply]I thought Jesu - Everyday was pretty good, if not exactly ground breaking. I really rather like Homesick.
It has more or less ended what little interest I had in future Jesu releases…
Sounded for all the world like demo material he rushed out to pay for his kid’s medical bills. Awful lyrics, awful “singing” and dopey, meandering, haven’t-we-been-here-before riffs recorded at the breakfast table whilst simultaneously reading the morning newspaper and eating his cornflakes.
Not to mention more of the same irksome Boards Of Canada styled keyboard flourishes that he’s milked to death over the past five years or so.
Black Sabbath - 13 about what I expected which was not completely awful but not very good either. It made me sad because the first 6 albums were brilliant along with the first two with RJ Dio.
NIN - Hesitation Marks. Horrid and completely unlistenable. I gave it a couple shots and same result. No thank you. Please go back to retirement or stop working with Alessandro Cortini because it all sounds exactly the same. Boring.
Boo! I disagree heartily about 13, i loved it!
Hooray! I agree totally about the NIN, it was boring as fuck. NIN was my favourite band for years, and although they were amazing when i saw them a couple of months ago, the album was dull, uninspiring, by-the-numbers cack after the first 3 tracks or so. I think he should do something totally different with no involvement from any of his current collaborators, because NIN and HDTA are both putting me to fucking sleep. [:(]
I really liked the new Sab too…for the people who didn’t like it, I’m not really sure what could have been done to please them…what could have made it better(aside from Bill Ward)…? It’s a very solid effort from a bunch of guys pushing 70…

Maybe a turntablist and some groovy keyboards, with remixes by Apollo 440…

Agree with the new Sabbath being pretty forgettable although to be honest it had its moments. Also kind of agree with comments regarding new Jesu. It’s a massive step down from earlier efforts but still gets the odd workout on my cd system. My Bloody Valentine and NIN were both very solid.
Yeah, they couldn’t possibly have put out something more classic Sabbath-y, i mean, it’s 34 years since their last record with Ozzy, and it is hands down a far better album than their last 2 with Ozzy. Basically, they haven’t been this good in 38 years, that’s what it comes down to. I don’t accept any Sabbath outside the first 6 albums, really, apart from this, and it fits in with those classics beautifully. I think it’s a fantastic album, and it’s probably my favourite album of the year. I haven’t heard a good reason as to why some people think it’s so bad.
It’s like, how much more Sabbath could this be? And the answer is none. None more Sabbath.
I like all 8 of the Ozzy Sab albums and the Dio stuff and Born Again but still I agree that this one fits right in there with the first 6…there are a couple of tracks that sound like they could have been written for the Dio era…I can imagine him singing a couple…but the majority just sounds like straight classic Oz era Sab…
None more Sabbath hehe…sounds like it could be a name of a Sab tribute band…
Jesu - Everyday I Get Closer To The Light From Which I Came
Black Sabbath - 13
Darkthrone - The Underground Resistance
Low - The Invisible Way
Tomahawk - Oddfellows
Can’t agree more re: Tomahawk. I saw them live in the spring and found myself thinking, “Wow, I used to hang on Patton’s every word, now I can’t wait to get out of here.”[/reply]
Yeah, Anonymous was not my cup of tea but still kind of neat. Odd fellows lost me completely. Fucking yawner. Sad, really. The first two records were sooooo fucking good.
Acucrack - The Mawn Reproduction
Darling Kandie - Hello Alone
Download - LingAM
Dubcon - U.F.O. Pon Di Gullyside
Front Line Assembly - Echogenetic
NIN - Hesitation Marks
Skinny Puppy - Weapon
Snog - Babes in Consumerland
Utero ZZZ Aaa - Propaganda Buster RMX & Nuclear Gas Panic
Women Should Not Drink Alcohol - See You Next Tuesday
Favorite is either the Skinny Puppy or Snog album.
Holy shit does this sound like it belongs on I See Good Spirits and I See Bad Spirits![/reply]
Yeah, stick that track right after Scene One, Scene Em’ All!! and it fits just fine. Too bad People Next Door and this track are the only Darling Kandie stuff out there.

Groovie has a new side project with Justin Bennett called Katastrophe Klown. The EP features a few remixes of Hello Alone.
