Very nice. Tool live is quite an experience. Highly recommended.
Might be fun but the price and their fans…not my idea of a great experience

Are you refering to the ‘Fantomas’ incident??
New tour is good news - although no chance of them coming back to Australia even though we have one of the highest Tool fan per capita ratios in the whole world (much higher than US).
Fingers are crossed now that a new album is in the works as I really loved 10000 Days.

what happened with this?
Probably got booed of the stage. I LOVE Melvins and King Buzzo…but Fantomas SUCK!!!
Then again I think Tool suck too so there you have it.

If that’s the case then the crowd probably played into mike’s hands. He really loves to get a crowd ppissed off it seems.

Wow. How thought provoking and original. I really can’t argue against such compelling evidence. I guess I suck too - damn!
Yeah, they got booed off stage and people threw coins at them. Typical Tool idiot fans - think they’re so ‘enlightened’ by listening to pseudo-intellectual prog metal, yet when faced with something truly innovative and challenging like Fantomas or The Melvins, they totally reject it. Morons.
Anyway, am stoked by the possiblity of new Tool somewhere on the horizon.

Only way I can let you know is for you to release an album.

I was told before that Patton once pissed into a crowd from the stage. Actually it was my ex who told me this and she also said she would have brought a bottle to catch some of Patton’s urine…
Sick bitch.
They’re confirmed for the Mile High Festival in CO, a date in NJ, and strong rumors of lollapalooza. Hopefully they’ll make a stop within driving distance of Tulsa, e.g. Dallas, OKC, KC. If so, this will be a good summer for shows: NIN, Tool, Jane’s Addiction, Street Sweeper, TKK, Napalm Death, and Ghostland Observatory.[:)]
Fantomas / Tool
That would be an unbelievable gig - Mike warming up the crowd with his sarcasm drenched noise fuckery and then Tool with their brain altering light and effects show.
Too bad I’ll probably never get to see it. The closest I’ll get is playing ‘Lateralus’ up loud in my room at night with the lights off and the lava lamp on.
damn it

What? no, I just think the idea of me at a Tool concert is nuts now…a majority are meatheads…
It’s funny though mentioned Fantomas, a friend of mine saw Tool three times and Fantomas + Tomahawk played at one of each of those. He hated Patton! I played Director’s Cut…he fell in love…he keeps up with him more than Keenan these days…
I can understand the hate for Patton, as he tends to rub people’s faces in what he does. His music is at times rather mocking. But at least he keeps his fans occupied with plenty of releases, which is more than I can say for Tool. By the time they finally get around to releasing another studio album, I will probably have kids and a mortgage.
Director’s Cut is, funnily enough, in my opinion probably the worst Fantomas album bar none. Really bad versions of really good songs - and they butcher them even further live too.
Delirium Cordia is great - paid out quite a bit of cash for the double vinyl picture disc version which sells for heaps on ebay now.
I got a good memory from he tool show I saw w/fantomas opening… maynard goes and i’m not quoting this perfectly, to the effect “repeat after me… think for yourself… be original… think for yourself… be original… I’m not going to go saying any stupid thing some dumb motherfucker tells me to do at a concert”
Aaaah Maynard. He tries so hard. So very very hard.

Well what about the idea of me getting fucked in the ass by Ronald McDonald in front of a busload of obese schoolchildren?
I hear only redneck truckers and balding gym coaches listen to Tool!

Arousing? Tell me more…
Shudder to think of the lengths that some Tool fans are going to have to resort to just to get their grubby little hands on a ticket - considering they sell out stadiums faster than Metallica these days.
Perhaps auctioning off their first born won’t be out of the question…
