Am I the only one that thinks Frankie should’ve done more with Ministry?
love that song. especially the bass.
what exactly did frankie contribute? i’m not very familiar with my life with the thrill kill kult.
Frankie did the vox on that one. He also did the cover art for the Stigmata single. TKK is quite different from Ministry but I think a collab would’ve been awesome back in the heyday. As for TKK I would start with Confessions Of Knife. Best album hands down. They weren’t the same after that. After The Flesh (which is a reworking of an earlier classic called Nervous Xians) was the last remnants of the classic sound but they were already past their prime by that time. The first album I See Good Spirits And I See Bad Spirits has the classics X-Communication, Do You Fear For Your Child and And This Is What The Devil Does. But Confessions is a must have for any Industrial fan.
First couple TKK albums are pretty good. I’m iffy with the Sexplosion album and further albums.
Gotta disagree. 13 Above The Night was the best - it had it all. Confessions being no. 2, maybe Hit & Run Holiday after that. But the first two, definitely.

all this time i thought it was al singing
He was the lighting guy (I think) for Ministry until he struck out on his own with TKK.
He also wrote the lyrics to the song “Thrill Kill Kult” which was performed live by Ministry and was a download of the week at one point.
Supposedly he cut a few demos with several members of the band just post-With Sympathy. I’d love to hear those, but they’re probably long since gone or sitting in Al’s pile of tapes never to be heard from again.
Never cared for sex-disco TKK, so I agree with Confessions as the high point. Frankie also does great vox on a track from Fred Gianelli’s album on Wax Trax. His Drowning craze stuff was pretty good as well. I thought Darling Kandie was sort of a throwback to the good stuff as well.
listening “…and this is what the devil does”. definitely has a Twitch feel to it.
My first exposure to TKK was “Kooler than Jesus” which remains a fun and danceable song with lots of memorable samples. Like a lot of you here I haven’t been interested in anything past Sexplosion! for some reason.
To be honest, even on Confessions, lauded across the board as their classic, I found the songwriting frustratingly inconsistent. Still great for playlists, but take the first two songs and pit them against most of the rest.
Tonight We Murder is great, any insight into the making of this song, who did what etc?
I posted this one before but here it is again. The instrumental was later used for Hatred.

awesome! love this track.
TKK released some cool shit back in the day, e.g. confessions of a knife, but damn everytime i saw them live they suck! Sound was so bad…i dont think ive ever watched an entire show from those guys
Confessions is whatever. Good Spirits/Bad Spirits, and for some weird reason Crime for All Seasons is the good stuff.
I love Tonight We Murder. Synth bass plus live bass. Mmmmm.
I like Darling Kandie, but I only heard one track - Younglam.

Gunnar heard that they sucked on the Evil Doer tour. Someone on here said that they kicked ass at Retrospectacle. I watched some live clips and they played those songs different than on the albums. The vids did say Retrospectacle on them but I didn’t see The Bomb Gang Girls. Other vids I saw right after that weekend had them on stage. I almost traveled 6-8 hours to Hollywood to see them at some goth bar but I’m not that hardcore for them.
But back on the topic of Frankie doing stuff with Ministry I’d love to hear it. Wikipedia says that he did a few songs with Ministry other than TKK. Wiki also says that Al co-wrote the first EP which was supposed to be the soundtrack to the TKK movie that never happened.
I think he cleaned up his act between Evil Doer Tour (he was awful on that one, for sure) and Retrospectacle.
What do you mean by cleaned up his act? Was he on a lot of drugs?
Just drunk
Most on here won’t agree but alcohol is the root of all evil.
