"To Have & To Hold" Documentary About History Of Vinyl Collecting

I have about 1200 vinyl. Including the Mayhem Deathcrush ep. However a record collector friend pointed out to me recently that it is not from the original batch of first pressings. How he knew that I don’t know.

I have tons of rarities. I had listed my stuff on record nerd but I deleted my account after they changed the site around.

Three Ministry vinyls. Thass it.

Well if it’s a red cover and has the DSP print on it then it’s the 1993 reissue

Yeah. I’m guessing it is.

It’s not my most prized possession though. I’m not sure what is. I have heaps of rare black metal, death metal, doom and industrial. I have quite a bit of rare Whitehouse, Merzbow, Sutcliffe Jugend etc…all the power electronics stuff.

Bought the recently released Warp Records boxset which is now way sold out and is as rare as hen’s teeth. I have seen some on sale for ridiculous prices.

I guess if push came to shove my prized possession would be this:

A way rare lp of early noise and industrial bands. It’s in mint condition - most of the ones you see for sale these days are fairly beat up. Probably not my most expensive but definitely the album I hold most dear.

Post some more of the collection.

That comp looks interesting. Early noise/Industrial and it’s got Charlie on there

As long as one of them is Filth Pig you have a pretty bad-ass vinyl collection happening as far as I’m concerned dude.

I wish I had money that time I found the Over The Shoulder 12"

I have Filth Pig on cd and on vinyl. The vinyl is still in its shrink wrap. I also have the Fall/Reload 12", a Filth Pig t-shirt and a laminated Filth Pig poster on the door in the room where I store my collection. I guess you could say I’m Filthy.

Also have a Psalm 69 tee and Psalm 69 vinyl - and The JBMHR 12" and NWO 12", both mint.

As far as posting the rest the rest of my collection - well, we could be here all night. There’s literally hundreds of goodies.

I have a rare Current 93 album - Christ And The Pale Queens Mighty In Sorrow - on red vinyl which I have seen selling on ebay for around $1500. That’s a good one.

Got a ton of rare doom/drone including all the original Burning Witch vinyl from the mid nineties.

Honestly thought this board would have been loaded with serious collectors but alas it’s not to be.

I have the just 1 fix 12 inch

just kidding

I don’t have a lot of vinyl, maybe 50-60 pieces, most of it hand-me-downs and some I bought legitimately. I think my thing is weight, too - too much time and patience and money to ship the damn things, and cart them around. Plus, I guess the digital age really kind of claimed my soul…

Still into CD’s more, also.

I do like wax, though. Always will.

I wish.

Just All Day/Halloween, Stigmata, and Twitch.

Someday I’ll get around to buying all 4 color variations of the ALL Day/Halloween single. The most common seem to be the blue, or yellow.

Although it is not worth a huge amount I do have GWAR’s first LP Hell-O! on Shimmydisc that I’ve gotten signed by all the band members over the years. I first saw them in 1986 at a short film festival they attended. Not a band I’ve followed in years but the early shows were a lot of fun.

Another of my favorites that is not often seen is the Volition ‘green cover with fish’ version of Severed Heads Bad Mood Guy. I usually like Steven Gilmore’s art but the Nettwerk cover is not one of his better efforts. The Volition cover suits it much better.

I’ve got Filth Pig on vinyl, that’s it. Saw it on ebay for dirt cheap and snagged it, thinking I would get a turntable someday. 5 years later I still don’t have enough extra scratch to get a decent sound system. Tis a shame really, I’d love to give it a spin as I think the overall sound of Filth Pig would really lend itself well to vinyl.

Wish I knew what happend to that Everyday is Halloween 12"

FP would sound better on vinyl. Shit I’d love to hear DSOTS on vinyl. I think that would sound a little too good to be honest

Mine’s the yellow one.
